What a finish to a race!! I was really really happy to see Regan Smith win one and at Darlington no less - sort of makes up for Talledega a few years ago. Regan Smith and his team are one of the unsung really good guys out there. Also in case you didn't know the 78 (driven by Regan) uses a Stewart Haas trained pit crew and the chassis and engines are from RCR. So sort of a win for RCR.

On to other things.

1) Montoya - Panther is this guy ever gonna show any talent in a stockcar on a round track or is he just another moving open wheel chicane? At least he smartened up after - I think the announcers were probably right suggesting this - Ganassi (I suspect) got a call from NASCAR saying Montoya straightens up his act or else. He suddenly drove sensibly.

2) I saw the biggest act of cowardice and reckless endangerment I have - I think - ever seen in NASCAR tonight. NASCAR had better get this one right. I'll wait to see what Caz says before I say anymore.

Panther I suggest you watch the race before commenting. If you did watch it I'm absolutely astonished that you actually approve of a driver spinning out an empty driverless car on pit road. That is the problem - NASCAR shouldn't tolerate that kind of behaviour for even one single second.

Montoya's anal retentive driving is secondary.

I am pissed at NASCAR too for throwing the yellow after JJ's spin last night. What was the reason for that? He didn't hit anyone or anything, if it had been anyone else who had spun and brought out the caution on his own by smoking tires other than JJ, they would have been penalized a lap for pitting with the lead group. Not JJ, lucky schmuck gets to stay on the lead lap and pit with the others. Glad he finished out of the top ten, he deserves a lower finish though. NASCAR 'is" biased!

I did enjoy seeing a first timer win and seeing Denny get a top ten finish despite a rough night.

At least you recognized the KEY point. In this case you get out and fight - any old time NASCAR driver would have done exactly that. Especially after deliberately taking Harvick out on track. You absolutely do not spin a driverless car on pit road endangering peoples lives. This is the point that NASCAR must come down on heavily. I would expect to see Kyle suspended for at least one week for that one single move alone - this is a line that no driver should be allowed to cross - no excuses are valid - none. Fines and probation for the rest of it - well fine but we'll see on tuesday.

I don't care for Harvick and I care even less for Kyle Busch and Edwards.

Bad blood between Kevin and Kyle - well that is just fine with me. Gets their eyes off the prize I like that.

Brad Keselowski did a great thing last night pushing the 78 who had spun his tires in front of Carl. Can't fault him for that.

Well, I will admit to perhaps not paying 100% attention to the TV coverage up until the point that Kyle turned Harvick into the wall, but from the post-incident replays, it looked like a coupe of “racin deals”, then Harvick bumped Busch's bumper, which didn't even upset the 18 car. Then when the 33 attempted that 3-wide pass, he caused mayhem and bumper-cars between the 33, 29, and 18. Then Kyle selected “Master Arm” and went for the “kill shot” (as it were) hooking Harvick's car into the wall. The post-race antics on pit road were very entertaining. I can't imagine NASCAR not fining Busch for that BS about pushing Harvick's driverless car into the pit road wall. A bit dangerous, no? They will probably fine them both, although I didn't see anything Harvick did that should warrant a fine.

Good to see Regan Smith get his first win. That was cool.
 
I totally agree EasyEd, I don't care who did what to whomever, spinning that car at that time was plain Ignorant!! If it had hit someone in the pit area, I guess it would be ok Just because someone believe's it was Harvicks fault is nothing but BS!!

Nothing dangerous about it. Even LaBonte's car had limped by them by the time this happened. The race was over. I know of no rule requiring Harvick to return to his pit at the end of the race. He can stop anywhere he likes. All Kyle had to do was backup and go around him. Kyle chose not to instead he spun a car on pit road. Kyle has to answer for this - it is called accountability. I can't believe the excuses in defense of Kyle who really has NO defense to an action he chose to take.

As an aside I'm hearing LaBonte was wrecked because Kyle knocked Marcos out of his way who then collected LaBonte - but I haven't seen any film yet - so I can't verify it. Marcos is another driver who will not get out of Kyle's way just cause he is Kyle.

Kyle is a hotshot in Trucks and Nationwide because he almost always has by far and away the best truck/car on the track not because of his talent. So those showy moves are all truck or car not Kyle. Unfortunately for him he has to play with the big boys when it comes to Cup which is why in 6 years he has never finished better than 5th in the points and only has 21 wins. If you noticed Gordon had 26 by this time in his career and 3 championships. Just the facts maam just the facts.

Panther you are just having such a hard time with this. Let me put it simply - the actions of Harvick are NO justification for what Busch did. No justification whatsoever. You don't endanger other people just to save yourself. Rightly or wrongly Harvick has guts Busch has none. Now why in the world would you not quote the other parts of that article that really matter.

Busch said later that he tried to avoid Harvick after the race, and that he had no reverse gear operational in his car.
