Captain Kurt submitted a new resource:

Kawanishi N1K2-J Shiden Kai (George) - Kawanishi N1K2-J Shiden Kai (George)

Kawanishi N1K2-J Shiden Kai (George)

Unit: 343 Kokutai, 407th Hikoutai. Matsuyam Air Base Japan. March 1945
Pilot: Sgt. Kouji Ohnara

The N1K2-J Shiden Kai (Japanese for "Violet Lightning") was the best fighter used in significant numbers by the Japanese Navy during World War II. Known by the Allies as the "George," this maneuverable, heavily-armed fighter was a formidable opponent in the closing months of the war.

The Shiden Kai was considerably better than the Japanese Navy's most...

I just saw this Capt. I like a good rendition of the George.

Now to install 'er and see what you built for us.

Thank you as always!

What a wonderful treat! The only criticism I can find is that it came with the sounds aliased to the Zero. That just won't do. Nothing that a little copy-pasta from my other Georges can't solve though. ;)

Upon closer examination, I'd say that this rendition of the N1K2-J is the best that is available. The overall shape of the fuselage is very nice. I particularly appreciate the attention given to the chin air intake and the modeling of the vertical stabilizer. These elements were really weak on the Stock George, and this George is also an improvement on Akemi's Georges.

If I were greedy, I'd also appreciate a modern version of the N1K2-Ja, the late production run where the only visual difference is that the vertical stabilizer was reduced by 13% compared to the early production aircraft.

Oh my god, one of my favorite IJN plane :redfire: Will try it a little later but that screenshot is so appealing, the 343Ku skin, the drop tank :redfire: Thank you Captain Kurt, I think people can put this one in my 343ku mission and I will certainly have to make another mission with your George :jump:

Edit: just flew it a little and my god this plane looks so good and flies really well. I like the drop tank as well, I think it can also equip the N1K1s by Yashico and updated by UncleTgt.

Browncoat,

I will probably do the -Ja version, but I have a joint Luftwaffe project with Wolfi to complete first.

As Browncoat said this George is really a great improvement over the stock/OH N1K2, even if I used it primarly for the 343Ku textures available for my first mission. I also like Akemi's George, I like their flaps animation. And thanks to Browncoat I finally understand the differences between the -J and the -Ja :bump: (it never really stood up to me until now)

Looks great Kurt. I will upload this to study your gauge choices - I know you would only accept the best.
