Kyle does stupid things sometimes!

Several of us have gone round and round regarding Kyle. I'll still say if it weren't for his extraordinary driving ability not many people would even bother to talk to him.

That could explain why he was not at VIR for practice yesterday, as Denny Hamlin was.

Yeah, that was pretty dumb and could possibly cost him his license for a year. You can walk the walk on the track, but do it on a public hwy. and gotta pay the piper.

I wonder if a NASCAR driver can own a Porsche :ques:

More to the point Ed, they could 'own' one but could they drive one??

People who own a real Porsche (I'd donate a kidney for the current GT3R!!!) know how to turn left and right ........:kilroy:

Nasty device that Lexus, a real boulevard cruiser with heaps of 'Redneck Bling'.
Nissan do it better with the newest Z Car.

more crap about nascar drivers not knowing how to drive?? yet montoya seems and stewart are the only ones whove come from open wheel and i dont mean sprint cars,,,indy,F1 ect to be cometitive..franchitti couldnt do it,hornish couldnt do it,,theres another i cant think of who gave up,,,now we have kimi trying...and hes being arrogant about it..doesnt want to start slow...hes gonna fall flat on his face when the others start the "rubbin is racin" stuff.....no one to cry to here...( in nascar) oh i forgot danica...yes...i forgot danica...............

franchitti couldnt do it,hornish couldnt do it,,

Dario is understandable...but Hornish is the question mark. In IndyCar, Hornish dominated on ovals and was average at best on road courses. Even Villenueve had problems & Villeneuve was successful at F1.

My guess as to why Montoya is successful is because of all the open wheelers mentioned above, Montoya is on the best team & Montoya is the best driver of them all (hence why Franchitti/Ganassi couldn't make it) - and NASCAR is a team sport.

I checked out the probable result of this stupidity in my home state via one of my Vic Police contacts.
At least an on the spot A$50,000+ fine and cancellation of licence for 12 months minimum, immediate confiscation (and possible crushing) of the vehicle along with a court appearance that could lead to a term of imprisonment.

And Dave, lighten up mate, of course NASCAR drivers can drive (ovals), they just can't handle Watkins Glen, Montreal or that Californian road course that just slipped my mind.

Open wheel drivers no good in NASCAR??????
Jeff Gordon came to CART after winning two feeder series, couldn't get a drive and ended up in NASCAR, one more gigantic fail for CART in not snapping such a talent up!
Robbie Gordon, Tony Stewart, open wheel drivers both.
And of course, back when NASCAR was relevant, AJ Foyt, Mario Andretti, Dan Gurney and even Jim Clark (a one off drive admittedly) did rather well.

Infinion Raceway, formerly known as Sears Point Raceway.

I knew it as 'Sears Point' from the IMSA days but couldn't remember the present day name.
Last year I noticed the drivers who were fast all seemed to be ex-TransAm or GT series, including our own Marcus Ambrose.
The stand out NASCAR regulars were impressive as well, but thin on the ground.
:applause:

yeah i have to admit i have no sence of humor when it coms to nascar or "american racing" in general...it did good by me for many years as my sport of choice but i allways had to "defend myself and my choice" even to my own father and im still sensitive to it...i was and am still very proud of my race driving record, and racing in general...so i must admit i have no sense of humor about it being a redneck sport or a left hand only sport...i tore up sears myself....i have a rather long tale of one time several of us who was young dumb and driving sprint cars, got into some large impalas and capris's and took on CHP officers at sears point.....i put one officer on his roof same place schrader flipped.good thing we were "imune"....lol
