• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Today after work I was trolling my favorite Flightsim sites when I decided to go over to FS-MP and see what was on tap there.

There basically is just a page that looks like the site is Dead.

They then list all of the members names of their site.

There is the FS-MP logo mixed with what appears to be a Phoenix. The page times out to goto their promo video they created. From niether place can you navigate to the site and the Forums seem to be gone as well. I had book marked the forums and it also takes you to the same page as the link above. The strange thing is the Image of the Burning FS-MP logo surronded by the Phoenix lists October 2006 to April 2009 But above those dates there is "April 2009 - "

Defiantly this has not been a great year for Flightsim sites. Our server died again, AVSIM has been having more than their share of problems, I have had difficulty with Flightsim.com and now this.
 
We had heard about FS-MP being taken down. The site had one owner and he finally got tired of the hassles of running a popular site and quit.

The FS-MP members are working to try and come back with a similar site, or at least a forum structure where they can communicate and participate in future events.

Avsim is much scarier - a deliberate and apparently successful attack to destory a major Flight Simulator site. Scary for everyone who loves FS, even if you do not like Avsim.
