Monitor On The Fritz

Well I had to break down and order a new monitor today. My old Samsung 19 inch CRT is going on the fritz. It's starting to take a while to turn on and I can see moving lines on the screen now. It's really bad when I'm using something like word that has a mostly white screen. Only bad thing is now my income tax refund is spent long before I get it.

Here's what I ended up getting. 23" Samsung LCD. Wish I had made the order last night because it was $10 cheaper then.

This same monitor was over $50 more at Sam's Club yesterday. Can't wait to see FS on it and get this CRT behemoth off my desk. The desk is starting to bowe a little in the center from the weight of the CRT.

I made the switch over from a CRT to a ViewSonic LCD a few months ago. If yours is like mine, you'll wonder how you put up with a CRT for so long. The difference is like night and day.

Ditto on what Willy said. Once you use an LCD monitor, you'll kick yerself for not getting one sooner. Besides, the wife will like the lower electrcity bill. You'll love the cooler computer room too. And best of all.... no glare. No joke. ;)

Loving my 17 inch LCD monitor...takes up far less space on the desk, sharper imaging, less heat, and doesn't stink.....for some reason my old CRT put off a pretty potent smell when it had been on for more than 5 hours.

The only downside to the LCD I have, which is a stock HP model, is the color. If I set the color and light for good presentation in Photoshop, them my sims are far too light. If I set my sims to look best, then Photoshop is too dark....so I have found a compromise setting that lets my sims and Photoshop look decent...but they both could be better.
