Monty's C-47 (1948) wip!

Ted-

I've been salivating over the thought of this paint for quite some time now... could you please provide an update? I find it easier to curb my impatience with injections of information ;)

Due to a computer failure in December it was not worth it to fix or upgrade. Using a netbook to go online for now. Useless for PS/Quixel or running FSX.

I'm looking to build a new system with one of those 9900k or 9700k processors around the end of the year or early next year. Hoping the reviews are good.

Also looking to pick up one of those Nvidia RTX cards when P3Dv5 is released.

Sorry to see most of my pics are missing, that's due to www.fsfiles.org hack.

Hey TuFun, Hehe, it seemed I worked harder after retiring than when I worked. I found that the biggest thing is to keep active both body and brains. Enjoy it, :very_drunk:

Hey Taco, it's just getting into a new rhythm that's all. :biggrin-new: Have lots of plans in the future (computer) and conservative body building routine.

Also spending time studying with video instructions on the latest in textures (PBR, V-ray, etc.).

* Bad word these days! :dizzy: Certain language at work these days are not permissible. Glad I retired in time.

It's been a nice break really. Was to busy with work and all. I retired a few weeks ago and was kinda frustrating not being busy, but now I've settle in and enjoying the time.

Oh, can't wait to see the review on the PMDG 747-8.

Video posted today.

Good for you- now live long enough to make it all worth while.

I'm pretty sure that if that sort of thing is your cup of tea... you will enjoy the new release :)

You know it's funny, I don't own any of their products. I'm more interested in their technical reviews. Coding is probably the most mysteries thing done in modeling and they do some of the best stuff. Same with A2A birds!

Now if they did a 707, which I have the CS version and the only jet airliner, then that would be the one.

Ted- Installing now, ta! The only change that seemed necessary was that I changed "sim=Douglas_DC3_v1.4" to "sim=Douglas_DC3_v1.5" in the .cfg. That done I was able to load, and here we are at London City, preparing for a Kestrel Flight. Many thanks, I shall enjoy this in Prepar3d v4.3, methinks :)

Hope this finds you well? With PBR out now (admittedly for P3D v4.4), any chance you'd be interested in working on this one again? CAN YOU IMAGINE her in sunlight???

It's in constant development among other works in progress. Here are some development testing I'm doing on Digital Dakota Works (Manfred/Visser) C-47. No ETA.

Salivating at the thought of all the aluminum in P3d - she promises to be stunning. Thanks for the peek inside, will wait until you are ready to share.

BluePrint is easier for me to see errors and for testing purposes.

Excellent video of a shiny DC-3 for study that I'm using.

And check this huge RC C-47 build. Hover over some of the pics will give you arrows to see more.

Ted-

You TEASE! I wait in anticipation...

What you are seeing in detail now can't be done on the current model. I've done a total rework of the details this year.

If you want PBR then I think that the P3Dv4.4 SDK need to be used. That will be up to Manfred or Jan.

For now, I see no reason to go with P3Dv4. Maybe P3Dv5 will impress me.... maybe.

Ted-

In another thread Jan mentions reworking the model into a DC-3. Perhaps then would be the time to make the move? Regardless, you have my attention :)

C

I have mocked up a DC-3 with doors on the starboard side. Jan's focus is on the Convair for now and the DC-3 is on hold. A new pattern will have to be created for a DC-3.
