More Meteors from Rob Richardson!

Oh that was a great series of articles by, I think, Michael Bowyer. I believe "duck egg blue" was the eye-witness term used at the time before official paint specs were formalised, and referred to the squadron-level repainting of in-service fighters during 1940 as fighting intensified. How I wish I still had those magazines today.

It was indeed Michael Bowyer. The articles were eventually revised and expanded into the books "Fighting Colours" and Bombing Colours", and were an invaluable reference in my plastic modelling days; I've still got "Fighting Colours", but sadly in storage & inaccessible at the moment.

OK, the two RAF paints are now finished and uploaded to BritSim. Now, on with the non-British examples!

just a quick and easy one..

not quite happy with the metal/silver paint yet...
Does the model support spec files?

Many thanks Rob for a great aircraft and Peter for his great repaints:ernaehrung004:. Looks like Jankees is up for some Dutch paints:ernaehrung004:

OK Guys I have just uploaded my first non-British paint to the library (before even posting at BritSim or FlightSim!). It is a Dutch paint (as promised to Stickshaker) although I see our friend Jankees has joined the party and started a Dutch example! Excellent, the more painters the merrier! One word of warning though - Rob's texture file 'Meteor 4' in his paintkit needs modifying to stretch the wing downwards to cover the trailing edge otherwise you get a grey area at the back of the wing. Just a little hint.

cheers, Pete W

Jankees, that looks brilliant! If and when finished, could you provide us with a link please?

And seeing that you live in Belgium, would you mind doing a Belgian one??

YES .... FR MK 9 is indeed coming!

What awesome news!!!! (see Rob's homepage)

Looks great Rob - very kind of you to take this on. that 2 Sqn paint is just the bee's knees.

Looking forward to your DH 125 too, when that matures - will be a winner.

Best regards,

Daniel

PS - if the twin boom bug bites again, is a Vampire T something you'd consider - just a thought...

I second that motion, A Vampire T or perhaps dare I suggest a Vampire NF possibly???

Thank you Rob for releasing another set of Meteor models! They are much appreciated. Actually your NF.14 is among my favorite FSX aircraft. Something very graceful about that long fuselage and the teardrop canopy.

A FR.9 would be a great addition to the Meteor family. Do any of you have any info about the effect on the cameras when firing the four 30mm cannons...?

and, as requested, a Belgian aircraft, GE-G of 349 squadron:

both paints now available on OZx

happy flying, Jan Kees
