• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

It took some praying, some cussin' and a lot of trial and error, but I finally have everything running. My thanks to everyone who offered advice, encouragement and prayers I really appreciate everything that was offered and the spirit in which it was done. Many thanks!!:ernae::wave::wave:

falcon409,
With all the collective pooter knowledge we have here, I was sure you'd be back up and running soon. :)
You don't want me advising you on trouble-shooting. I'm still trying to locate the "bit bucket" on my rig so I can dump it. After 8 years it's gotta be nearly full.

Yeah... what he is saying goes for me as well! See.... told ya things would work out for ya!

Yep, things WERE lookin' great, then I updated the BIOS and now it won't go into windows again because of a corrupt or missing hal.dll file in the windows/system directory, lol, lol.

Well, I did some searching on the other computer and found some info that said to be sure you're booting from the correct drive (I have two internal HDD's and one external). . .sure enough, after switching boot drives. . .I'm back in windows again. I had XP on the other drive from a very long time ago and apparently enough of it is left over to give me that error.

This has definitely been a learning experience!!!:rapture:
