Not a big fan of egg beaters but you have nailed this one. From certain angles it looks like there is only one set of rotors and that is the case here. Hang a 100' rope below it with a Bambi bucket on the end and you have what it was designed for.

I'm not really a fan of helicopters myself. Although I have a few I've bought because they looked real nice and I wanted to learn. I never was "fond" of them due to the difficulty to fly them. Even though I've painted quite a few, crashing them was always something I did better than most due to the flight dynamics. Since Prepar3D v2 has been released this has changed. Meaning the crashing part. I don't know what a real helicopter flies like aside from riding in them, so I can't base judgement on the realism in the LM simulation. But it feels more comfortable as compared to FSX and Prepar3D v1.4. I like the experience of having control of them for a change. The more I experience the LM flight simulation characteristics, the more I enjoy flying. No offense meant, but FSX flight modeling that was handled through the simulation, really bites in comparison.

Concerning the helicopter, I'm not sure where I'll go. I'm just enjoying myself.

Animation adventures

I've been experimenting with animations in general for the past couple days. Apparently the servo flaps provide the lift.

With all this being new to me I'm slow at understanding how and why in the mechanical aspects. Some animations for what little they move, in relation to my flight controls are responding strangely over powering. Currently the slightest movement on my rudder pedals (and I do mean slightest nudge) the force it creates in sim is a what seems like a 90 degree left turn. It's not very predictable when trying to fly with fluidity. Helicopters are already hard enough for me to fly with any smoothness!!

I definitely need to do more experimenting.

Thanks. I'm keeping fingers crossed I can find a source for much needed images of the interiors.
I'm currently working on the FDE for the time being.

Now what's deep inside better looks the part. The turbine blades are animated and have a slight glow showing the heat inside. Now to figure out how to stop the blades at shut down.
