P-3 Thread continued...

Hello,

A standard P-3B (HW) with weapon pylons as delivered from the factory during the 1960's would be very welcome (standard B model antenna layout). If possible include the right outer station mounted light pod as an togglable option (it was more or less standard during the 60-70, but become less and less used in the 80's). A lot of countries have used the Bravo in more or less standard configuration over the years and a dedicated B model will be very welcome and will open up many interesting paint schemes!

Partial restoration was performed to the texture.

I'm sorry to have kept you waiting. :wavey:

In order for better lights and visible smoke, I wish to address changes I made to the [LIGHTS] and [SMOKESYSTEM] areas of the aircraft.cfg file as follows:

[SMOKESYSTEM]
smoke.0=-10.271, -30.017, 10.052, cs130_smoke//fx_smoke_rx <<<<<<< I changed the cs130_smoke2 by deleting the "2" to read cs130_smoke as you see here.
smoke.1=-10.232, -15.416, 10.052, cs130_smoke//fx_smoke_rx <<<<<<< Same-o same-o
smoke.2=-10.232, 15.506, 10.052, cs130_smoke//fx_smoke_rx <<<<<<< Ditto
smoke.3=-10.271, 30.002, 10.052, cs130_smoke//fx_smoke_rx <<<<<<< Ditto

Note; I too own cs130 and did not find the effect file that was previously entered; when I deleted the "2", the smoke would appear by pressing the "I" key without fail. :adoration:

Can a picture be prepared in order to know concretely?
picture with many detailed if possible.
What is best for the key word though I want also to retrieve?

Thanks to all P-3/KBT Members for this nice update! :) There's a little question left, have you planned to update the FS9 models too, espacially the NP-3D and the P-3C with that "chocolate bar"?

Best regards,
Elmar

I have sent a collection of B pictures to your email. I hope they can be of help.

The portion which should correct in creating P-3N, and the detailed portion which can be painted.:wavey:

Thanks!

Actually all the pictures I sent to you were of Norwegian B models. The N designation was just for the two remaining B-models which were rebuild in 1989 with removing the ASW gear and some C model updates to the avionics and cockpit. Their main task have been to support the Norwegian Coast guard with ship recce and serving as utility and pilot training aircraft for the C-fleet.

I'm also working on an early 1970 VP-24 P-3C, do any of you guys have any close up pictures or info about the details for the Bat badge on the tail. I need information about the small details which are around the bat emblem (could look like red stars?) and detailed info about the how the sqn badge on the forward fuselage looked. I have pics of the sqn badge itself, but I want to see exactly how it was painted on the fuselage (border ring color, lettering etc).

Thanks!

KBTs old FS9 Orions are still available at flightsim.com

I have all of those. I was inquiring about the new models displayed here that weren't available then. Like the NP-3 billboard's and the EP-3 without all the blade antennas and the special one from Dallas. I'm hoping that the models may be able to be modded by KBT for FS9. KBT, is this possible?

Dave

I currently have the EP-3E Aries II plane installed.

I added the Bat Rack paint to it. For some reason the Bat Rack paint won't show up?. My guess is the bat rack cfg. entry info isn't correct.

Here is the Bat Rack config info. Can anyone tell me what needs to be corrected for the paint to show up?.

I have those as well, need some closer to the tail and fuselage :)

A few wip shots of the 2048x textures:

Scrshot359.jpg~original

Scrshot352.jpg~original

Scrshot355.jpg~original

I just found this picture which is a bit closer:
http://www.airliners.net/photo/USA-...22745/L/&sid=8313eb0d6faa488c0aede84d10ab8810

The problem is that this time it looks like the stars are painted (from top) Red, white and blue. Comapre this to the pics you psoted which looks more like all red stars. Since the picture above was from 1977, it might be that VP-24 painted the stars in the flag colors for the celebrations in 1976 and that the original paints cheme was with red stars.

Try taking out the leading space in the SIM= and MODEL= sections, and ensure that the TEXTURE= is exactly what the texture folder is named.

have u checked the panel.cfg file in the aircraft folder is it can't find the correct path then it won't show up in aircraft selection screen.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\EP-3E_FSX\panel

in mine it is:

[fltsim]
alias=\P-3C_ORION_FSX\Panel.The general-purpose virtual cockpit for the P-3 series

I wonder if you left off something in your copy paste. In a situation such as yours, I found that I either had forgot to number the [FLTSIM.X] part or partially copied it i.e.

FLTSIM.2] <<<< check to see if the left bracket is missing. That happened to me once and I did not see the airplane on the preview screen.

the panel.cfg file should not be at fault because the contents are correct the way it was written. You have to have the Basic P-3C program installed because the EP-3E makes a call on the
basic P-3C panel to function.

The BAT RACK problem I have, is now taken care of.

I reinstalled the paint and paint .cfg entry info. The paint looks great.

Thanks all for the inputs to my problem.

George
