P-3 Thread continued...

Hey there, I've been following this thread, and I'm kinda wondering what's going on with my P-3. I've downloaded V3.1 from here, and for some odd reason the whole fuselage is SHINY, like the whole a/c is covered in chrome. Did I do something wrong somewhere or is there a fix I missed?

you seem to be having the DirectX preview turned on. try the p3 without the box been ticked.

i believe wee now on to v3.2 now.

Was the ladder on the P-3B manual or electrically actuated? On VP-67's P-3B's, they were manually operated.

Manually, we literally man-handled them into the aircraft and god help the crew that dropped theirs. We had a visiting bird from I think the Glenview squadron that dropped theirs, I was the A/C Director/Handler for that evolution and I think me and my crew lost about two or three minute laughing our a**es off at the before we got the gear to lift it up and deploy it. Good thing it was at Point Mugu in the spring, anywhere else and raining they would have been screwed:banghead:.

Sorry for the late reply, been stove up with my back, arthritis flared so bad it was just laughing at the morphine and Baclofen I take to control it.

BTW, will the Charlie re-paints work on the Bravo or is that a new set of work and problems?

Yes! The "C" model WILL convert to the "B" model. There are a few things that have to be done in order to convert it to a "B" model.

This is picture of converted "C" to a "B".

If you want any particular "C"'s redone to a "B", let me know and I can either convert them or tell you what you need to.

Fritz;
Thank you for the information.

Spinners.
An extreme correction is always difficult though it has already been corrected by the point of Adrian of NZFF in V33 (later release).

Mad Boom end.
I correct.

About lights.
Although that you have told can understand me in general, if a picture shows, an intention will be transmitted correctly.
About the light, P-3K2 created to NZFF has added description of a light in Aircraft.cfg.

About VC.
VC is provisional.
Of course, I think as well as you.
Time and skill will solve it.:wavey:

Ground reflection !:jump:

By setup of a pitch angle and a bank angle, it does not go in the earth under reflection.

KBT,

These latest modifications are looking great,

I hope you are getting closer to releasing V3.3, so that we can all enjoy them.

Momentary image of shining NAV light and flash light.
These reflection is set to daytime not to appear.
Of course, ground reflection is the same.

The reflection accompanying NAV light, stroboscope flash, beacon flashes, and those lights was displayed in the model.
The description in aircraft.cfg of these lights is unnecessary.
Thereby, the axis of light does not shift.

DX10 fix?

Thanks Daisuke and Hiroaki for your wonderful Lockheed Orion. I'm using new v3.3 version and I like it a lot (same with your Lockheed Electra, by the way).

Since I'm using DX10, I tried the MdlMatXX fix posted by DaveWG in page 3 of this thread here. Thanks Dave for finding the "Reflection Scale" parameter and tweak it! It works fine, but it's a lot of work! It took me almost an hour to convert 2 exterior and interior MDL files (the clean base P-3C version). Since there is around 10 Orion variants, I don't think one can fix them all, and do it again when a new version is released.

Original version in DX10, too much "chrome":

With Dave's MdlMatXX tweak, all is fine now in DX10:

So I'm hoping maybe Team KBT could include this fix in the next Orion v3.4 package? It might be easier to play with this "Reflection Scale" value in GMAX, or other tools Team KBT are using. That would really be helpful for us DX10 users. And I noticed that this DX10 "tweaked" version works fine in DX9, so no need to release a DX9-only version!

PS: Don't forget to read Team FS KBT Interview (June 19, 2014):

Has anyone else tried these Orions in P3Dv2 ? It's a great model, but I'm getting some big texture anomalies in the VC.

yes i have these in P3dv2.2, you need to follow Dave's guide on page 3 of this topic. It explains what you need to do to fix this.

Possible Issue !

Good Morning:

While doing a long distance trip over the weekend with the P-3C, I got to the point where ALL the engines all of a sudden 'flamed out' !! After researching the cause, I found that the only fuel tank that was being 'drawn from' was the left main - while the others still remained full..

Has anyone else come across this issue OR am I missing something (like finding a fuel selector valve) ???

Bill
