There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.
If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.
Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Ridiculous. . .those images are actually large, but by the time they're loaded they get reduced to postage stamp size and you can barely make out what they say. Hope you can read enough to see how they're setup.
Daube, I use "Snapper" to take all my screenshots and it's set to capture only the Primary Monitor/Active screen. I cropped the shots to get a better image. Normal screens during a flight suffer the same problem though. I want to show the entire landscape in the shots, but the large images are reduced to thumbnails and much of the beauty/details of the shot are lost because of the way this site displays them.First, switch to windowed mode in P3D (ALT+ENTER, just like in FSX), and reduce the size of the window to match the size of the settings area.
Then, instead of just pressing the PrintScreen key to capture a screenshot, try pressing ALT+PrintScreen. That will capture the active window only. Your screenshot will then have less useless black space in it, and that should hopefully allow us to read more easily![]()
Actually, I'm using REX2 graphics in P3D for clouds, water, etc. not sure now what texture size though but I would guess I went with 1024I took a look at your settings. and I have a few remarks:
- you should try to install, if not already done, an alternative cumulus texture. The default ones are heavy on the FPS and ugly. That should allow you to push the cloud draw distance slider to half distance, which is much nicer when you fly at medium altitude. I currently use the HDEv2 culumus texture in 512x512, if I'm not mistaken.
- you should enable the building cast shadow option. It has no impact on the FPS, and the look of the buildings gets much nicer (especially the hangars, which will cast shadow inside and on your plane too)
- you might want to try to set both the special effect sliders to the max, just to see the impact.
Click on the first picture. It will be shown "full size". Use the "Next" button to advance to the next image....but the large images are reduced to thumbnails and much of the beauty/details of the shot are lost because of the way this site displays them.
