• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

  • Server side Maintenance is done. We still have an update to the forum software to run but that one will have to wait for a better time.

PRB / Qantas / Pacific / It's On

Made it up to 18,000 feet. Oil temp going back to the green part of the gauge. Weather over the Pacific is a bit nasty today, with heavy cloud cover all around. Pago Pago has a 112 mile NDB station. Doesn't get much better than that.
 
Down safe at Pago Pago (NSTU) A fun approach and landing too. Visibility was pretty crappy, but I'll net not nearly as bad as you blokes flying around in Northern Europe..!

On a semi related note, I'm selfishly happy to see that the Google Maps people have the same problem drawing a line between two points on the globe when they are on opposite sides of the international date line! That problem kicked my butt for some time, but I did solve it... Hehe.
 
Ok, time to fly. Off to Rarotonga (NCRG.) Using the "Highmike Navigation Method", I should alter course by 1 degree to the north half way there.

FUEL = 15,048 LBS
P/L = 20,600 LBS
 
We're bucking fierce headwinds now.

Well, ok, so it's a 6 knot headwind. But it is a headwind, and I've had strong tail winds up to now!
 
Down safe @ NTGJ. I wonder what this would be like in a B-17... Next leg will be a long one!
