• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

psst... HU! Greg Putz' Maui scenery

Just installed this and it is beautifully done. I'm not sure if this is a related problem, but I am seeing several resort hotel buildings out in the water just off shore of the new coastline. These are definitely not part of the add-on and are crudely rendered as if they were part of the old default airport. I did delete that old airport as instructed. Greg Putz really did a some beautiful work and it is generous of him to offer it as freeware.

Edit: Greg was kind enough to respond almost immediately to my inquiry and he told me this scenery was designed primarily to use with Ultimate Terrain.

A fix from the avsim FS9 forum by Neumanix:

If you don't have Ultimate Terrain USA and your hawaii area is otherwise unmodified, you will have some default buildings in the water. The instructions mention this as well.
There is however a freeware fix to this too, just download and install the following: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=75408
It's low resolution Hawaii coastlines. Fixes the floating houses and looks much better than default.
 
Thx Sasha. I did treat myself to UT and it fixed the problem. These beautiful sceneries (and aircraft) are what keeps fs9 fresh and exciting.

Thanks to 'motormouse' for the HU and thanks to 'sascha66' for the link to the Hawaii Coastal configuration fix. Really nice scenery from Greg and I recommend using his link to put in the excellent 3d people to bring this little airport to life properly. Also change the airport identifier to its current code.

Thanks again for lovely little airport in a great area.
