Is RealAir still a going concern or are they defunct or undergoing some sort of rerorg?

There are a ton of wonderful textures for various RealAir Spitfires on flightsim.com but the base package of the product is nowhere to be found - or at least on PC Aviator and FS Pilot Shop.

They are defunct; out of business; kaput. Basically, they have had to confront some harsh realities in their lives, which didn't leave room for anymore work from them.

I have the A2A WWII Fighters 2 Spitfire, which covers the Mk I, IA, IB, and Mk IV reconnaissance versions. There don't seem to be many payware versions of this fighter - or am I not looking in the right places?

There's also a "Legends of Flight" Mark V at Just Flight, which is pretty good, with several versions and colour schemes including US.

That being a Flight1 release, I was prompted to look on F1 to see if they sold it direct. They still have DVD/CD versions of the Duke, Lancair and SF260 but sadly, not the Spit. Good find Nick:encouragement:

I think the FS Pilot Shop still has an assortment of RealAir models for FSX as well as FS9. No instant download versions, boxed CD only. It's better than nothing at all, I reckon.

I don't really know if that's a fair statement. They were very successful, and profitable. They just needed a change.

I'm going to keep that in mind, after that CD shows up in the mail for that RealAir version.

And thanks, everyone, for those steers you gave me.

In my opinion so is the Realair Spitfire still the king of the Spitfire pack by a good margin. They nailed the complex shape and have a smart system for having both normal and tall rudder, normal and clipped wings. The IX is one of my all time favourite aircraft in FS.

Hello,
That is my humble opinion too.
I am also most impressed that despite its age, from 2008, it works
"straight out of the box" when installed into P3Dv4.
In fact, it arguably looks better in that than it has in all the previous simulator versions.

I've noted (for a long time) that the 3D model used for the RA Spitfire IX has been available to buy from various 3D model websites: -

https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-models/...-supermarine-spitfire-mk-ix#tab-scene-details

http://animium.com/2015/07/spitfire-3d-model

I assume this is all legit, as it's been up on these websites for ages!

There is also a short promo video on YT as well from some other provider of 3D models : -

(I'm pretty sure the 3D model for the MK.XIV was available as well).

Cheers

Paul

It wasn't meant in any way to be disparaging as the same could be said for a group I developed with that was over taken by real life issues. It was simply a statement about their current state of affairs.
