repaint question

Hello!

I have very limited skills in painting but I know how to open up a texture and modify it in various ways.
Right now I just want to do a very small change to a texture. It is a Gripen texture that is way to blue and I want to make it more grey. But The blue consists of many different shades of blue so it is not as easy as to just swap one color for another one. Can it be done in another simple way?

I can tell you how I would do it in Photoshop. I cannot be much help if you are using another program.

In PS I would add ad Hue/Saturation layer over the texture and play with the sliders until I get the desired affect.

Thanks for the help, I used paint.net and only worked with layers.
It will take some polishing but I am getting there =)
