Request for 2M1 Harry Truman Airport

gray eagle

SOH-CM-2025
Harry S Truman Regional Airport is located in Bates City, Missouri, about 31 miles east of Kansas City near I-70

A major boneyard for GA aircraft. P3D has a bland version of it without the acres of non junk GA aircraft laying around.

Would of liked to see the scattering of these airraft added to this scenery and some buildings as per photo. MSFS 2020 has this one but not P3D.

Image on left is from Goggle Earth on the right is from MSFS 2020 version which is a free download. I wish there were a way to convert it to P3D V4 or V5. The link for the MSFS 2020 version is here

I don't think that anyone who is not "gifted" in GMAX, FSDS or Blender would be able to create all those "junk" GA aircraft. I am sure that P3D has an adequate if not fairly accurate airfield which is what Airport Design Editor would create but to create all those bgl's or mdl's of the GA would be quite an undertaking. I HAVE created a lot of very accurate (IMHO) airports but have never mastered the model creator programs though I have tried which is why I didn't volunteer when gray eagle "pm'd" me to create it. I use Sketchup Make to do all my scenery and buildings for my airports and searched for the possiblility that they had models of damaged GA aircraft but no luck there unfortunately. There is nothing at AVSIM or Simviation either except some damage profiles for CFS1 and CFS2.

Ain't that weird how MSFS 2020 has managed to create this scenery and with all the bits of damaged aircraft for free?

Guess you'll either have to fly MSFS or else do without 2M1 in Prepar3D. MSFS has some really beautiful scenery and free from non-MSFS designers too but I am not willing to sacrifice so much that I have for a few that I don't. Besides spending more money on flightsim when I have all that I REALLY need and don't even fly a lot of anymore, including a lot I spent hours designing. The wisest man in the world Solomon in Ecclesiastes says "it's all vanity". How true!

Much of my adult hobby life was spent building elaborate model ships. We had a club of over 40 builders. Some of them have models all over the world in museums. I have a couple in museums as well as built for wealthy collectors. When we finished a model it either went into a museum or given away or sometimes sold. The house wasn't big enough to display them if we kept them and needed the room for the next one.

Now my creativity is spent designing for flight sim which is equally rewarding and I can literally share world-wide through the miracle of the internet where I have met a lot of friends with the same interests. I get to share my talents that the Good Lord blessed me with.

Fortunately, my creations of scenery and repaints all fit on a "palm drive" or flash drive, not requiring a big room.
