• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Roman's Operation - "Bangin Me Head" - "Gettin 'er Hot"

Leg IX

Lightning almost struck.. Ran too light on fuel, a little too light for comfort. Had to slow her down to conserve fuel. It gave extra time for prayers. Next time will have to double check the math.

Time for a few (4,5,6,9) drinks & this looks like the perfect place to do so.

Leg X, XI, XII +

Running successive legs to make it before the deadline. VTUU --> VTUN --> VTPI -->VTBU

Great job, Roman! That was a superfast run... you must have been cutting every corner on the approaches - either that or your F-111 has superb airbrakes!:ernaehrung004:

Thanks Nick! All initials were done w/ a 7-10 nm point. Had to be at, or acquiring the altitude required at that point. (Didn't get too high anyway) If visual was guaranteed I would tighten up the initial a bit or go angled in. But you are correct sir! The speedbrakes on the Aardvark are "barn doors"! The Max Mach Assembly allows a speedbrake extension at 600 kts. (amongst a host of other restrictions) With the throttle cut at high speed and the barn door out one has about 6-10 seconds to get configured, MMA allowing, as the speed drops considerably in that time.

The video in post #5 shows the airbrake/main gear door extending.

Thanks again Nick!
