• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

RTW 2015 Practice 2

Discovered I had 1 notch of flaps deployed during most of climb

Unless the runway is short, I leave the flaps up for takeoff with both the F7F & F8F. Leaves one less thing to forget.

However, the gear is a different story. :)

Per the rules we should be stating what weather engine we are using just to get into the habit.

I thought we were required to use the default FS real world weather.

Derry-

2015 General Rules Updated for 2015

• Addon weather engines are now permitted. Because we include P3D pilots, and P3D does not have a default Real Weather engine, we allow all pilots to select an alternative if they wish. Only a limited number of designated alternatives are permitted. Pilots must now declare their weather engine before the start of the race—and stick with the same one throughout. Teams publish a list for transparency purposes. And everyone must fly in dynamic Real Weather that is at least as challenging as the MSFS default weather engine. (See Rule 6.E.iii.)

In retrospect, flying a helicopter through the mountains at night to an unlighted airport was probably not a good idea. I got all the ay to the airport without bumping into anything hard. Everything was fine up until the moment that I flipped over. I blame it on Brian Williams. He was my gunner and he said "clear left!" but there was a large gopher hole there, apparently...

Baton back at LWOH.
