This 89a Squadriglia S.V.A. 5 was flown by Ten. Vincenzo Biana in Libya in 1926. The "Ardea" badge carried on the dark blue banner is a mythical bird said by Ovid to have risen from the ruins of the similarly-named town destroyed by Aeneas to avenge the death of Turnus.
