Scenery Issues

Lately on a couple of my installs, I've noticed a common scenery problem that I kind of ignored until now. Having land objects appear on water and ships appearing on land. It seems that it has something to do with the maybe the mesh and other scenery as opposed to the library objects, but I could be way off.
I have not made any missions nor edited any. Also, the same scenery will look totally different in one install and different in another even after adding the GSL for the scenery. I have ideas on how to try to fix this and I'll see. I tried with changing the Scenery Priorities, but that didn't do anything. It may be due to scenery conflicts since I know that can occur. I have other scenery issues too , but I'll wait until later for those. Just like to hear from anyone who has experienced this and any thoughts or ideas about it.

Scenery GSL sets are made to be placed on (match) specific land mesh sets. The mesh generally identifies whether an area is either land or water. If your scenery GSL objects are made for one set of meshes but you are using a different set of meshes which has the land/water areas in different places, then you can see some objects where scenery GSL sets have land objects on places on what is now water where land used to be, etc.

Here's what I got. These pictures show what I see in the weird displays and the locations. Please note that in other installs I have, the displays are fine with no weird images. Most of the unusual displays are when I start free flight from the ground
and not from the air. Note that in the one from Malaguna, the plane is much bigger than the objects are.Lakunai.pngMalaguna.pngRapopo.pngLakunai.pngMalaguna.pngRapopo.png

Sorry, the images were saved as png not jpg files and when trying to change the file extension to jpg, I did, but the images were attached as png files and not jpg. Don't know why. And I could not attache labels to the images either for some reason.

UncleTgt has completely transformed the southwest Pacific, including Papua New Guinea. I suggest installing all his scenery, following the instructions carefully. Rabaul will look magnificent. Good luck!

Hmm,

What a mess.

The Rapopo shot from the air showing the black square suggests the Rapopo airfield background bitmap is missing, or the wrong format.

A couple of the shots don't show any coastlines, so the stock coastlines have been removed, or excluded.

The Rapopo shot from the ground suggests the airbase A16N is at a significantly different level to the mesh.

My guesses:

You've got Rhumbas mesh active, but are trying to use Masriders old PNG airbases.
These airfields were created long before Rhumbas mesh, so you'll have problems like this

Or

You've got some PTO Coastal flattens/ watermasks active, & they're playing havoc with airbases close to the shore.
Again, apart from Rhumbas 2019 work all his earlier flattens were made long before he released his mesh.
