Just a small sign of life to say that I´m still here.
Recently I have been too busy with real life to commit any time to CFS2. A family issue which has thankfully been resolved now, a lot of work, and nice summer weather prompting me to spend most of my time off outside.
But I´m still working on this Malta campaign, just can´t estimate when it will be finished.

I think it's weird that the water farther out still has the old texture—how can I fix this? I used Uncle GT's Pacific water.

Do I need to set the visibility in the options to a maximum of 15 miles?

'fraid so, set your visibility max to 15 miles. I think CFS2 hard codes those blue/green/brown colours for far off scenery views.
I think it was to avoid asking the (old)hardware & sim engine to process to much background scenery at once, thereby slowing frames rates to a crawl (or worse)...

I may be entirely mistaken, but I have a feeling that the shots by @ElsnerMarkus are not CFS2 in the least; I mean look at that water and environment shading, and the 3D engine rendering...CFS2 is much too antiquated to be capable of such graphical acuity and realism

Looks like World of Warships, I think he was just showing us how nice a detailed version of a US BB looks.

I actually just wanted to show that in one of the mods for War on the Sea, we also have the turret markings from the standard BB
