Sea King install problems into P3DV2

Navy Chief

Senior Member
I installed the Virtavia Sea King into FSX, and tried to install in P3DV2.

When the installer ran, instead of the "new install" screen, the one with options to modify, repair or remove came up, telling me it sensed the Sea King was already installed.

Is it not possible to have it installed in FSX AND P3DV2?

It is impossible to simply port it over, because the Flight1 wrapper security prevents it.

Any ideas? Thanks. NC

Do you have the EMT Tool (Estonia Migration Tool) Chief? That's what I've been using where an Installer is used, It set's up a false FSX setup but allows you to point the actual installation to P3D. Has worked great thus far.

I've edited the P3D.cfg to read the aircraft and rotorcraft folders of my FSX install, that way you only have to install once anyway. The only issue is if they put gauges in the FSX/Gauges folder rather than the aircraft's own.

Ed, I have the EMT, and tried installation that way. But doesn't work in this instance. Don't know why.

Maybe because I have that helo installed in FSX? I can't figure it out yet. Another challenge. Pete

Update: got it to install in P3DV2, but have to wait to reinstall (or attempt at least) into FSX.... progress at least.
