Well, after a long wait for the expected fix concerning the Avatar in the VC an update was released this morning. Sure enough the Avatar is no longer in the cockpit. . . .however he's also no longer visible in the external view. It was mentioned that the "On/Off" switch to control it was the seat adjustment button on the right console, however it seems to not be working. My guess is that what I'd get if it did work would be the Avatar in the cockpit and in the external view. . .basically back where I started.
I have come across numerous simmers in various Discords requesting a pilot figure in the cockpit because a lack of said pilot figure kills their immersion factor. . .Huh? Maybe I'm way off in my thinking, but when I enter the cockpit to begin a flight, aren't I the PIC? If so, why would I want another pilot in there with me? To me it's like you're sitting on your Dads lap while he teaches you to drive. Pilot avatars in the cockpit went out with the release of FSX and demise of 2D panels for the most part. I hope something can be done to fix this once and for all. I haven't flown the Shark for several months waiting for this update because the Avatar is KILLING MY IMMERSION FACTOR!! lol
