Some really shots, and I like the CFS2 shots. Good to see the oldies still in use.

Cheers

Not only is CFS2 still in use...it is thriving. New add ons and improvements being developed for the old combat sim on a fairly regular basis. Developments that take CFS2 far beyond anything it was originally designed for. Tango Romeo has done up Civil War fighting ships that can be "flown" by the player and used as AI...imagine having a Civil War era ship battle in a combat flight sim. There are now submarines that can be "flown" and that will submerge to periscope depth....we can now simulate the German Wolf Packs along the US East Coast and in the North Atlantic..hunting and sinking merchant ships enroute to England. Yep, you can actually fire torpedos at the ships and sink them.

There is a Vietnam expansion being developed by a group of us....when completed it will turn the stock WW2 Pacific Theatre sim into a South East Asia air conflict sim. Missions and campaigns are being developed using the F-4, F-8, A-7, A-4, Huey, Cobra, B-52, F-105. There is even a rice paddy and a killable water buffalo!

There are a small number of CFS2 addicts who are working toward becoming modelers so that new planes can be introduced to the sim....dedicated CFS2 planes and not just the conversions that have been so prevalent in the recent years. I am one of those with the goal of modeling....but got some real life issues that take priority so Gmax is on the back burner.

CFS2 may be getting long in the tooth....but she is still in the running for the Trifecta.
