All decent programmes, Spitfire Women is especially good, giving recognition to an incredible group of ladies; the book it is based on is worth picking up if you ever see it.

Errrrr, I'm beginning to sense a sort of Spitfire theme going on here.
I miss BBC2.
BBC Canada - what a joke, they have to air 30% Canadian content which sort of defeats the object. The rest of the stuff is just that stuff like ancient re-runs of the Vicar of Dibley.

Yes, yes, yes, yes .......NO! Not the Vicar of Dibley!! The BBC have made some great landmark comedy over the years (I'm catching up on series 1 of Summer Wine, almost edgy at times!!), sadly Dibley is not on of those - considering the people involved it should have been, and some of the ensemble cast are great, but ......

Didn't somebody here mention a way of 'tricking' the i-Player country recognition before? I actually watch very little live TV nowadays do most of it on i-Player, as virtually the only stuff worth watching IS on the BBC (apart from Smallville & Big Bang Theory on Channel 4)

Hey, didn't say it wasn't memorable, just not the best thing the BBC have ever done. And that is what Trevor Peacock will be remembered for, most of all; which is a crying shame, as he is a very fine Shakespearian and classical actor, has done lots of theatre, TV, film and radio work & was actually a songwriter of some note back in the 1960's - and all they will show on the news after he has gone (hopefully not for a good many years yet) is ......

I've just finished watching "Spitfire Women" again, still an incredibly moving programme second time around.
