Found these on the net the past few weeks, thought you might enjoy these too:

Before building the Mercedes CLK-GTR, Mercedes created this McLaren F1/CLK-GTR hybrid just for testing:

Filming the action in the good old days:

Ferrari mechanics having an ice cream in the pits at the Nurburgring, 1971:

Interesting dinner table, Ferrari, Monaco 1975:

The current generation F1 cars aren't the first ant eaters; Alfa Romeo, 1980:

One Lucky man! John Love, Kyalami 1971:

Gilles Villeneuve in the 312 T5 for the first test at Fiorano; apparently the body wasn't ready..:

McLaren way before the moved to their current high tech building:

The Ferrari 312PB, the prototype that was never raced:

"I hear a strange sound in the back, can you check it out?" Dan Gurney in his Eagle at Goodwood during testing:

And finally some nice six-wheel drifts:

Another nice one: Two Porsche 917's sliding through a corner at a very wet Brands Hatch:

Found a few more worth sharing:

A flying Alfa Romeo Tipo 33:

Monaco, 1965:

Joakim Bonnier, Spa 1966:

Even more memories.. the green panel Mini is just like the one I owned in 1971 - an ex-Canada Post delivery van on it's 3rd engine and fourth tranny when I got it - and its sister as a parts car.

A few more..

A Mercedes 300SLR arrives at Le Mans by purpose-built truck. The #20 SLP would cause the biggest crash in motor racing history, killing over 80 people when it flew into the grandstand.

Bruce McLaren and Jack Brabham having fun(?) on go-karts:

Another Porsche 908 flying 'round the 'ring, this time Vic Elford in 1970:

Briggs Cunningham and his heavily modified Cadillac Coupe de Ville at Le Mans 1950:

Niki Lauda giving Emerson Fittipaldi a ride, 1977:

On-board camera's 1978 style; Patrick Depailler in Monaco:

Monaco 1962:

Ayrton Senna, Lotus, Monaco, 1987:

Slide-show; Beltoise in his Matra, Monaco 1968:

Senna, 1985:

Ronnie Peterson, Oesterreichring 1972:

Monaco 1967, Jim Clark ahead of Dan Gurney:

Clark again, now in the Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato, drifting around Goodwood:

Bruce McLaren, 1966, the first attempt at using wings. Quickly banned after a few crashes!:

Car maintenance 1960's style:

Ferrari 250 GTO on its way to Le Mans:

I've been searching in all manner of strange places for period shots of transporters, having filled one wall of my bunker with many of my own shots I decided a few early images of racing people who I really admired would be a good idea for another wall.
A great colour shot of the Ferrari transporter arriving at Spa in 1961 was irresistible as was another of the Mercedes Benz high speed 'pickup'......... and another wall is under way!
Those shots of the P34 Tyrrells demonstrate the real advantage of the four wheel front design, amazing front end grip, not what was intended but it certainly worked.
Jo Bonnier's Cooper Maserati at Spa made it into the original 'Grand Prix' movie, and IIRC the brave chap perched on the rear of the Eagle was a Goodyear or Firestone technician.
The camera man on the nose of the unidentified open wheeler appears to be shooting footage for a lesser racing 'Epic', the car appears to be powered by a pushrod 'something complete with a quartet of Webbers, maybe an F5000??
Jimmy Clark, Aston Zagato, balanced on the very edge, perfection.
You are making me feel really old Ferry!
:encouragement:

i hadnt noticed until roxanne posted that comment, that i now see the beginings of a crash, just over the first two mens heads, who are on the shell thing inside the corner

A few seconds later, an official will be fatally hit by a wheel flying off Ginther's BRM...

Hard to believe how dangerous that place was in those days... Look at all the people behind the hay bales and the very low and basically useless guard rail..
