Looks good Every camera has its learning curve. And when you finally understand your camera it's time to buy a new one .

I don't know how it is in the Southern hemisphere, but here the it's the time to make beautiful pictures as the light is currently very special due to the angle of the sun. Typically when spring and autumn starts we have this very warm, almost orange sunlight a few hours before sunset.

I mentioned the 'Weekend Warriors'......... can't say I blame them, this is a very pleasant area to idle away time!
Car park had thinned out by the time I started shooting, still way too many SUV hogs present, dwarfing my MX5!

Autumn is really the best time for atmospheric shots here Huub.
As you mention, it's all about the light.
Re the Camera learning curve: I've been setting mine at a generic shot style and tweaking that a little at a time.
Slowly working my way through the 300+ page manual........

With Autumn winding down a here are a few random shots to add to this thread.

Looking from the Cape Schank midway down ramp toward the aptly named Bushrangers Bay.

A bright morning on the Surf Coast.

Overlooking the Blairgowrie Marina with a passing ocean going support vessel heading out to the Bass Strait gas rigs.
Interesting fact: she is a Norwegian flagged ocean going tug operating a very long way from home!

Winter is coming but that is rewarding us with clear, calm and brisk days, just too good to pass up.
Been stitching away and attempted a sort of curvature here.

The backstory behind these couple of shots is one of 'her indoors' suggestions!
'We should look for a unit in one of those cluster developments closer to the City' she said.
Cause and effect: Our long weekend at the Grand Prix was expensive and she wasn't enthusiastic traversing the bay on the ferry, ergo our 'shopping' expedition to Martha Cove!
Pretty place but just far too many people crowded into far too many relatively small living spaces, more to the point, hugely overpriced!
Not going to happen, especially as she said 'We could buy a sailboat'................

One of those deceptively bright early winter days that often catch unobservant rock fishermen (and photographers) out when they turn away from the Ocean!

MV 'Georgianna McHaffie' ex-Westernport Heritage Cruises, Westernport Marina, 2022.
She was quite a popular 'Weddings and Parties' boat for many years, sold in 2019(?) to an 'Investment Group', and left to rust away since then.
Shame as she was fitted out in a 1930s Art Deco style and reminded me of a floating version of the Agatha Christie 'Orient Express'.
