To this day, I still think the most intense nerve-wracking mission in any combat flight sim ever, is the first mission in Jane's F-15 where you cross over the border into Iraq. If I remember right the first couple of missions were about getting ready for that first actual attack and built up the anxiety level.
Loved that sim and still in the top few of my all-time favorites.
