The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Thank you, Chris.

Now we had a very interesting debate, not many years ago, that mentioned the aeroplane illustrated below but, as far as I can see, it has not hitherto featured as a challenge here. So over to the few individuals who now seem to be participating in this little piece of innocent fun .....

..... and the baton returns to you, Chris (where have all the others gone?):icon29:

It is the Léduc RL-2, the second design of the other René Léduc, of the pays nantaise, whose metier was light, rather than jet, aircraft.

I think you have mistakenly posted a photo of the shop vac they use to dry the floors after washing!

Damn, I knew I'd do something wrong! :banghead:

But, no, it is a real aircraft, albeit only ever flown remotely. If it helps any, it is of European origin and dates from the early '70s.

It is indeed. Designed by Alexander Lippisch, built by Dornier, powered by MAN Turbo 6022 (aka BMW 6022). Lippisch reckoned that with a powerful enough engine an aerodyne design had the potential to go supersonic.

Over to you Chris.
