The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Assuming the engine to be a Pobjoy R and by a process of elimination, I'll take a guess at the Cosmopolitan Light Plane - about which I know nothing and can find nothing!

The engine is naturellement a Pobjoy R but the aircraft is not a Cosmopolitan.

It seems to be the third construction of the designer which all have been one-offs.

BTW, does anybody know anything about the Cosmopolitan Light plane? Couldn't find anything about it as well.

.... which just demonstrates how unreliable the online sources are, when it comes to a definitive listing of the aeroplanes powered by Pobjoy R motors!

Cheers!

If this gentleman is still around and wants to post a challenge - now's your chance sir. :untroubled:

If not - OPEN HOUSE.

Not for the open house but to help a publication American Aviation Historical Society. I just received the latest issue and they had this unknown. From the Pete Bowers collection and he couldn't figure it out. The gentleman next to the aircraft is Mexican and no ID on aircraft or person. I've looked through most of the us aircraft military and closest was Douglas O-series.

A word to the wise, EA. Make things more difficult for us by removing any photographic captions, in whatever language, and all other textual identifying features!
