Hi all, with apologies.

For some glitch I have not been able to isolate, the flaps animation on the C-2 and D-2 Thunderbolts has become erratic. Most of the time the command to lower flaps fails. I have traced it to the air file but was not able to isolate it further. I have made a new air file which works consistently to fix the problem. While I was at it, I had the wrong propeller modeled. I learned that the paddle blade Curtiss prop didn't appear until the P-47D-22-RA production block, So, I have replaced it with the correct earlier Curtiss prop.

The original download C-2 and D-2 have been deleted and replaced with version v.2 downloads.

Thanks for all your efforts. Great work. Have you seen the WW2 government release "Thunderbolt" introduced by Jimmy Stewart? You can see how well you captured the essence of the airplane.

Hopefully this will be the last update. The cockpit glass was lower in the part hierarchy than it should have been and that was causing it disappear when seen against certain parts. It's fixed now.

So while I was at it, I corrected the 75 gallon drop tank to have proper P-47 plumbing rather than the P-51 plumbing it previously had. And the P-47D-2 of 348th FG used a unique, locally made 200 gallon Brisbane drop tank which I have added in the download. It's a bit of a swag as there are no dimensions available anywhere so I have scaled it off of the few photographs available of it on the P-47s.

CK. When I look at the 200gal Brisbane tank, at some viewing angles the textures turn black.

I'm finding the same issue with the 75 gallon tank for the C-2.

There are 2 of those tanks still around today. One is shown in the video I sent you,on the ground,so you knew what they looked like and you could make them.

Hi Hiede,

Yes thank you. That's the majority of what I refered to while making the tank. It was really your prompting that got me working on it.

Wow Browncoat. I can't recreate that at all and I have no idea what might cause it. Does the tank still show black when you drop it?

The only thing I can think of might be the texture format. It's saved as DTX1. I'm attaching one saved in DTX3. Video cards sometimes interpret the compression differently. Try it and see if it makes any difference.

I noticed that too.It seems to be how the light hits it when flying.

I found a site with the story of Thunderbolts in N G,I haven't read it all but describes the training and missions and even talks about when they flew from the Philippines.

Thanks for the updates and this Brisbane tank Captain, I remember a Youtube video I watched about this specific tank by Greg's Airplanes and Automobiles, really interesting.

Edit: just to let you know that I had the same textures issue as Browncoat with the 200gal Brisbane tank but the DTX3 textures solved it.
