US-Bases on Emiraua Island 1944

Klaus, I love this!I see tons of B-25 and other traffic, but no Corsairs. Did they make it into the final release?

Yes they did. Did you install all the AI planes? Corsairs are in the folder : AI Planes and named : EDAviation AI Corsair F4U.
In the scenery the corsairs are placed in the south part of the airfield.

Just taken this photo from fsx

PS. Forgotten one thing ... you must install the AI-planes in your AI folder.... don`t use the name i give it to in the zip. If you do that, you must write this folder name to your fsx.cfg as a new entry. (but i think you know that...)

yes, I installed in my normal AI folder, all other AI displays. I'll try a few things and report back.

Thanks Klaus. Really looking forward to doing some island hopping.

Also, just a question, I'm certainly not being picky; Is it Emirau Island or Emirua Island. I notice there are references to both spellings on the internet regarding islands around PNG, and also the scenery title is Emirua_Islands_1944, while the title on the picture on the download thread says Emirau Island 1944.

Cheers,

Scott

Strangely, no matter what I do I can't get the Corsair AI traffic to display. All the other traffic shows up fine.Installed as per instructions.I'll keep hunting.

Normaly it is called Emirau Island. But the history documents from the US and in some other documents from the RNZAF it is named as Emirua Island. In my documentation for this scenery i used what google told me .... Emirau Island ;-)

If you had this corsairs before (freeware) then you must overwirght the aircraft.cfg with the one in my .zip.
Another thing .... get the sliders for AI Traffic in FSX to maximum to test it.

Just started with the "new" Emirau Airport like it looks today. Only one runway is use. Airport is coded AYEE today. Just little GA traffic there.

Hi Klaus,

Your screenshots of your US Bases on Emirau Island 1944 scenery look great, but the 2 links in your Readme Emirau Island 1944.pdf file for the v2 Solomon 1943 Scenery and a 2-5-2013 update don't seem to work for me.

All I get is the following error message:

Server Error

404 - File or Directory Not Found
"The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable."

I've also searched high and low in the SOH Warbirds FSX Addons/FSX Scenery library and can't seem to find either the v2 Solomon 1943 scenery or its update.

Any help in finding these would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Would you please go to post number #19 here.... there you can find the links in the signatur of roger-wilco. On my side...they work.

Due to it's size, Solomon 1943 does not reside in the warbirds library. The links should work - Mike, could you please PM me your IP Adress? See https://www.whatismyip.com/ . We'll check what gives.

Cheers,
Mark

Hi Mark,

I was able to download your large original Solomon Scenery 1943 v2 file and the smaller update file using the links in your signature as recommended by Klaus, so I'm all set now. :encouragement:

It was only the 2 links in Klaus's Readme Emirau Island 1944.pdf file that didn't work for me and gave me the server error.

Thanks for your concern.

Klaus,

Superbly assembled PTO war environment - congratulations. Scenery mesh and textures all look right and good. Like the AI variety. Only small issue I had was the Hornet (?) cv model gives a building crash (not your fault) so I swapped it with a different WW II cv model of Colin's that now allows me to land my Corsair. I trap with crash detection "on." :untroubled:

Where do I go to find the IJN?

I did not notice the problem with the Hornet... my crash detection is off. Bag your pardon for that.

The IJN is in the north-west of Emirau (not so far away.... but not visible when you start at the airbase :jump: ) So you have to search for it ;-)
