video capture of CFS3 mission, need help

Oh, I was mistaken above; the Ramitelli airfield is actually on the Adriatic coast, in the cluster of AAF fields there. Maybe it's not too critical. Anyone happen to know what the base models for that area in CFS3/ETO are like, and if they'd pass for Ramitelli reasonably well?

Just to be no the safe side you should install a vanilla CFS3 then install MAW. You are in for a pleasant surprise with Maw and the other Expansions such as ETO and DPCKS. FirePower in mild compared to the other Expansions other then the A_bomb. As time go's by you will learn to mix and match the expansions to get what you want in each. The possibilities are almost end less.

Thanks for all the links, guys. I"m downloading MAW now but I read something that implied I'd need a fresh install of CFS3 to install it into---since I've got Firepower already installed, that won't work?

What Flyer01 said plus some other tips:
- Install CFS3
- Install patches CFS3.1a and CFS3.1b
- Install CFS3 Mission Builder. If you are doing video, you will need the ability to create missions (ability to position aircraft, schedule events, etc). However, you MUST install mission builder as part of your vanilla install or else it won't work with the add-ons.
- Once your vanilla CFS3 install is complete ... AND BEFORE YOU INSTALL MAW, ETO, whatever ... do a PKZIP of the entire CFS3 directory. That way, if anything gets messed up down the road, you can restore it much more quickly.

I didn't mean to let this drop for so long, but got swamped with some other deadlines. But we have the scenario/script nearly done, so I do want to find someone who can set up our mission in CFS3/MAW and do the video capture. I've seen a lot of great example videos in the posts above, but it would be very helpful to hear specifically from anyone who's interested in this and can meet the specs:

  • Video dimensions: 1280x1024 or even larger (the kiosk monitor will be 1900x1200, widescreen, but I don't know if anyone can capture at such high resolution)
  • Graphics settings: high-quality
  • Frame rate: Constant 30 fps
  • Timeframe: late March-mid April

I know those are pretty demanding specs, but hopefully someone out there has a capable rig. Again, this is a paying gig, and we can discuss a fee based on the scenario and number of clips required.

Please PM me if you can do those specs and are interested. Thanks much!
Dave

Hmm, nobody interested or able to do that? What if I lower the video canvas size to 1024x768--can anybody do that?

Or, would it be possible for someone to set up the mission according to my specs in MAW, and then export that mission so I can run it and capture the video on my computer (assuming mine is powerful enough, not sure about that). When you set up a mission, can you also set up camera paths and all that, or is all that controlled live by the player. (I'd rather have someone set all that up since I'm not going to develop the kind of proficiency with CFS/MAW that I need for great video clips.)

[edit: never mind, this question was already answered in an earlier post on this thread.]

Well however it turns out, I know that I'm looking forward to seeing the end-product. Certainly a worthwhile subject. We need more of these kinds of things.
