Thank you for trying Moses. A lot of people have looked, have books, etc. but there simply does not seem to be good reference available for this cockpit.

Well, Merc Air did "borrow" the Crimson Skies logo a long time ago.
I did a Merc Air paint a while back for Piglet's FSX Sus Scrofa SS4P turboprop when we were flying fast GA online. Very XP-54ish but with a 4 seat GA type cabin and glass panel. Think JPS black with gold pinstriping scheme with the logo on the tails and the front of the nose.
Trying to decide what I'm gonna do with the inside bits for now. Probably just gonna bare metal 'em.

Hmmmmmmm.......
You know, Milton sent me this variant with all the guns removed. Nice and clean, with a lot of empty cubic feet up front. For a truck, it'll be quite fast....smooth.....
.....Thinking of an outfit that specializes in fast, discreet overnight delivery.......the XP-54 could certainly augment the fleet......
Pressurized cockpit....turbocharging.....nitrous......
Maybe for the twenty first century she could get a turboprop. Looking at the "in and out" ducting.....we wouldn't have to change a thing in the mdl.......

When there is something to report, I'm sure Milton will share it with us immediately. Creating a paintkit is time consuming. Especially when you need a lot of research and when there are a limited amount of sources.
Its an exiting project, so I can imagine you get impatient, but please wait for the things to come.

The real XP-54 when all of the design features were incorporated, and the guns and armor were added (Except for the P&W H Block engine that was planned) turned out to be a heavy craft. The XP-54 model currently being developed here at SOH, models the characteristics of the real plane to that extent.... it's heavy. The model has a very "heavy aircraft" feel on the stick. Despite its sleek design and fast look, the XP-54 climbs a little slower, and attention to the trim must be followed as per spec in order to pilot her properly. She's definitely not a 'hot rod', but if proper technique and attention to detail are followed, she's a performer in her own right. And landings are pretty easy, here again... follow specs and you can't go wrong.
The "racing version", currently under development will be faster and a lot lighter for you armchair Reno Racer fans. Like Huub said, this is currently an 'active' project and as more info is released, you folks will be the first to know.

Mike Kelley is doing the paint kit. He said on January 19th he was about wrapped up on the details and was putting a "real look" on it. That's the status on the paint kit.
Tom Falley has been improving the FSX flight model and we are testing that as we speak.
I am happy with the FS9 flight model as is.
The aircraft.cfg still needs some tweaks to radios, lights, etc. and verifying all other systems are working correctly.

Another story overheard at an airport cafe described an aviation contractor purchasing a boxcar load of Allison V-3420's from a scrap dealer for a few hundred bucks.
