Weather Engines

Hi All,

What weather engine do you use, freeware or payware? I have Active Sky Evolution and just feels awkward and it crashs. Any advice would be great.

Thanks,
Sean

I have used Active Sky Evolution for a number of years and find that it renders weather conditions very accurately; in fact better than the weather program that I take my sky textures from; REX Soft Clouds. If you don't go beyond the default textures, I'm not sure that the enhanced weather engine makes enough difference to warrant the expense. Interestingly both of the add-ons mentioned above are no longer officially supported by their publishers. REX is no longer sold. The ASE still works well. Hopefully others here will have some recommendations.

I own both ASE and REX. I like the rex sky textures but found the interface just dreadful. I will probably try the rex textures again though now that I have a pretty stout machine.
