• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

There was more than a little irony in my comment.
English doesn't really differentiate between cause and reason:
cause (REASON)
noun
1 [C or U] the reason why something, especially something bad, happens:
reason (EXPLANATION)
noun [C or U]
the cause of an event or situation or something which provides an excuse or explanation:
But if you're looking for an explanation of the madness that descended on the world in 1914, it would have to be that the European aristocracy, as usual, had its head up its collective ass. We could chat for hours, better with a glass of adult brew in hand, about those issues.
But I guess this is an aeroplane forum, so I'll just say again: I like your planes. :mixedsmi:

History is a funny thing, it depends on who you read and what their perceptions are. Just ask any detective on any police force. 10 people see the same thing, but you often get 10 different descriptions. Add in national interests, economics, ethnic discrimination and a multitude of other seemingly unrelated happenstances and there you have it. I'd be willing to bet that no one event ever started anything. A spark in and by itself is nothing, but if it occurs in an explosives factory per se, then you have the beginnings of an event.....

Hey All,

I'd be curious to know if anyone actually thinks there has ever been a war that has not ultimately been about
To summarise; power and domination
.

Resources, Religion and Respect (or more commonly lack thereof) - like readin, writin and rithmetic are the the 3 Rs of education these are - the 3Rs of war as I call them - and singly or in combination are - to me - the drivers of all wars. The words power and domination simply collapses these 3 elements one further level. These 3 drivers have always been true and will be true in the future when wars will be - I think - very different (likely more grisly) than anything we've seen - however the drivers never change.

Nice Pfalz I really like the yellow paint.
