What's Everyone Using These Days?

Greetings!

Just curious as to what's in everyone's Camera Bag these days. I picked up a gently used Nikon D40 a few years ago, and found a nice 18-200 Tamron zoom lens for it. Moving from a Panasonic LUMIX point and shoot I've had for years, and I'm getting the itch to do some dSLR stuff again.

Also, what's everyone's favorite Subjects to shoot? Is it a faux pas to carry a dSLR around? Why ain't I just using my smartphone camera? :p

As always, suggestions and input are greatly appreciated.

I have been shooting Nikon Z6 & Z7, ever since they came out. I slowly replaced all my F series lenses with the Z versions.

Yesterday, I ordered a Z6 III.

- Workhorse: Mamiya RZ 67 Pro II (120 film medium format)
- Sony AR7 Mk III (bought that camera just for digitalizing analog negatives :) But it is very capable for normal photography, I think)
- Linhoff Master Technika 4x5
- Argus C3 (the "brick") 35mm
- Zeiss Ikon Ikonta (medium format) very nostalgic (sharp at the center, but blurry at the edges)
- my mobile can be quite good, Nokia 8.3 G5. Has Zeiss optics and 45mp. But you have to know the limits regarding lighting and focal range.

Nothings beats a Mamiya in portrait shooting, in my opinion. The thing was engineered for that and rolls your socks down when you nail the subject with open aperture and the field of depth in control. The Sony with the big Zeiss Macro - which can switch to "normal" (infinite) mode - is almost equally capable. But you have to put it in manual mode and know the FOD when you open the aperture. It is like shooting analog, and the large sensor helps.
The mobile is very good if you do not need to magnify (like zoom) or too much wide angle. If you stay within its flight envelope (as with aircraft hehe) you are good to go.

Cheers,
Mark

Slowly getting back into 35mm film. Bought some items on ebay and am disassembling them to clean out years of dust and in one lens, some fungus. Feels funny handling cameras that contain almost no plastic.

I'm in a few FB groups which are very good, and one of them is dedicated to the repair and restoration of vintage camers.

Canon 5D mark 4
24-105mm Canon L series lens
100-400mm Canon L-series lens
50mm f1.8 Canon lens
Sigma 105mm Macro lens
Meike macro ring light flash
Canon speedlight 430ex flash
Lensball
All depending on where I'm going, because I can't fit it all in my backpack.

And for a quick shot I do like my Oneplus 11 phone camera.

In no particular order:
Olympus E-M1 Mark III
M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-100mm f40 IS Pro Lens
Leica DG SUMMILUX 1:1.7/9 ASPH.55 Lens
PENTAX K3
TAMRON AF70-200 77 A001 Lens
SIGMA DC 18-125 1:3-5.6 Lens
Sirui C/F Tripod

My ancient K3 serves as a fixed camera mounted on the tripod, as it feels like I'm dragging an M60 around!
And it still takes great shots!
The Leica DG is brilliant for lo-vis and night shots.
Everything fits my old army issue backpack.
