Where did the .com name go?

Seems to me that the moment they put up that login box they are using deceptive practices to gather information illicitly.
A clear description of the issue: State that the site is a "phishing site," "spoof site," or "scam site" designed to deceive users.
Even though they own the domain now imo they are most assuredly, at a minimum, a scam site at this point. Anywhoo just my 10 cents, inflation you know, on the subject.

Now, that I'm semi-officially back kinda sorta, I hate to hear about losing the .com domain. But it's just a domain name. SOH has always been more about the people than anything.

With the possible exception of Panther, I'm probably the last of the original gang that started Sim-Outhouse up after the hostile takeover of Combat Flight Center. I was there from about 4 or 5 days after CK started it up in November of 1998. I stayed with it until early Jan 2020 when wife took a freak fall and broke her neck at C1 & C2 which made her an instant quadriplegic and I had to shift everything over to her care. She passed away from septic infection a couple of months ago and I'm slowly putting life back together.

Sorry for your loss Willy. Hang tough.

Here's an idea... Start spamming the entry page with made-up credentials like this:
Username: Sookon
Password: D33znutz321
On a sidenote, I mentionned what happened to the old domain name to a couple of (ethical) hacker friends of mine. They have a virtual server farm running somewhere and they started a DDOS attack on the old domain. Apparently the .com server is pretty robust. ;)

Has anyone thought about doing something like a search and replace for the .com links in the.org site? There has been several times I clicked on a download link in the forums and it directed me to the .com site

That would be prohibitively difficult. Not only had the .com suffix changed into .org, the rest of the URL has changed as well. What you propose is feasible, but the links wouldn't work.

Remember, we're talking about thousands of posts and links.

@wbuchart that would be a good question for Xenforo support. Can you give me an example that I can use.

IfI could do it the best that might happen is we replace the .com with .org and the link fails as the rest of the link is wrong. Still with asking.
