• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

Wide or square monitor - which do you have?

This is a little poll.

As on our last couple projects, David and I will include alternate panel cfg files with instruments in proper proportion for both 6x8 and wide angle monitors when our current one is ready for release. I'm just curious to see which type is more common so we can decide which one should be the default. (If indeed anyone but me still has a 6x8 monitor)

Which kind of monitor are you using?
 
Last several years of simming; widescreen! Still flying only on fs9 since september 2004!! Samsung 28' (display resolution 1920X1080)

I have 2 flightsim computers, one is more or less the spare one, with still with a square screen. But I usually use this computer, which has a wide screen attached.

Well, I expected that most folks have wide screen monitors these days but I didn't expect it to be so universal!

I will still convert David's panels to an 8x6 version for myself and will include it as an option just in case I'm not the last holdout.

For what it's worth: I didn't miss a wide screen when I did not have it, but since I have one, I wonder how i did it without......

It is really one of the best investments I did.

I think its a 22' for mine. Which is too big for FS9 and was made for a square monitor. Hard to get those nowadays.
