Is there any scenery for these airports?
Papa Westray (EGEP) and Westray Islands (EGEW)

Hi,

As far as I know the JustFlight British Airports are the CD versions of (an earlier version of) the UK2000 airports, which only covered England and Wales, and which didn't extend above the Scottish border.

Have you tried searching the main websites, such as Flightsim.com and Avsim.com ?

Alastair

yep - Scotflight does cover this area. If you are using Ultimate Terrain then there are compatability issues - there are unofficial patches which while acceptable are not entirely perfect.

kurt

Yes I have - I really enjoy it. If you get the FSGenesis UK mesh (used to be a freebie trial for their Europe mesh) it looks excellent. Lots of good airfields, especially around the Western Isles. There are also associated freebies for Glasgow, Prestwick and Ediburgh. As I said there are some issues with UT but I have the fix which makes it acceptable. Also there are a couple of compatible airports for Stornoway and a couple of other airfields missed by Scotflight.
In truth you cannot fly Scotland without it!

What kurt said:amen:

Wouldn't be without it, but I'm a tad biased :d. Whilst it's not the most up-to-date, it is pretty much the best going. Nice to see the Forth road and rail bridges, several castles, and even Tobermory (Balamory if you have young kids). I often fly outta Oban at the bottom of Loch Ness, good for trips up the Loch to Inverness, or to explore the Islands, not to far from Glasgow either.

I'll try and take some pics later once the kids go to bed.

So could one you put up some screenshots of Papa Westray (EGEP) and Westray Island (EGEW)?

Here's a short hop between them, lol.

They are fairly simple airfield, but remember they are a small pert of a very large pack as opposed to standalone airports. They (I imagine) would be fairly simple in real life too.

Jamie

There isn't very much at Papa Westray - the Scotflight rendition is pretty accurate as are most of the other airports. I think Iain Gallagher did the brunt of this work and in its day it was top notch. It still looks good IMO.

Thanks for the screenshots. Will be getting this addon soon.

me either.

Also, If you have the Free UK2000 Edinburgh and Glasgow, no problems at this end.

Also, if you are a Brit, it's a great island hopping scenery for the Islander, short and sweet.

On a side note, I recently discovered a Falklands island scenery which is also perfect for the Islander too. Found it by searching 'Falklands' at one of the big two.

Jamie

OK no worries.

Another nice one to go for is the Off Shore Development Groups gas and oil rigs. Flights from Aberdeen or the islands out to the rigs..... fun in helo and challenging in real weather. They have even modelled turbulence around the rigs.....

Yet another goody is the Faroe Islands. A nice flight from the Western Islands and some spectacular scenery - faroesver2.zip at Avsim. The buildings are a little simple by current standards but the islands themselves are way better than the stock FS offering. Quite breath taking in real weather.

Kurt,

thanks for the pointers, will look into them. Most certainly my area of interest. As a child of the 80's, the Falklands features heavily, I've been setting up scenery and AI for operation Blackbuck with various amounts of success.

Kurt,

could you give me a hint on finding this one, just spent ages at the big sites looking for it. Is it payware?
