Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome FSX P3D

I'll have to reïnstall, as I was pretty frustrated with the elevation and performance issues.

I'll install again and will disable the addon landclass that I am using and will report back later.

I have a question too: did you guys have it tested with FTXG?? Or did you test it yourself with that particular addon? Also, has it been tested with addon landclass products?

Oh, and for a comparison: the Polish New York scenery with the difficult to pronounce name gave me about 20 FPS on high settings on my rig. And that scenery is notoriously heavy!

To be honest, after trying out ORA, I was VERY tempted to do a complete reinstall of my rig to get my FSX as lean as possible... I even prepared for it by downloading the very latest stuff for my rig and even imaged it. That still is a possiblity, but only as a very last measure. A bit over the top for freeware scenery IMHO...

I'll report back later.

Dumonceau

I tested it on my machine running UTX USA.

Honestly, this is a rare true classic airport for FSX and is already payware quality.

Lol Ed, even the biggest boys on the block have issues with newly released items for some customers! (runs great on my pc).

Cool airport!

Just as a comparison, here are my specs:
AMD FX(tm) 4200 Quad-Core
CPU 3.3ghz
8gig RAM
Nvidia GeForce GTX 650Ti-2Gig
Dual Monitors (1680x1050)&(1920x1080)
Do not run DX10 Preview
Win7 - 64bit.

All sliders maxed (except water)
fps locked at 25 (fluctuates a bit, but only a few fps)
Nick's tweaks for FSX using NvidiaInspector

*****************************************************************

I don't have FSXGlobal and never will. I run UTX/GEX. I don't use any other boosters/limiters, or any other outside programs to enhance or boost performance. The scenery runs smooth with no stuttering and FPS averages between 23fps and 25fps.

On a sidenote: why the dislike for FTXG?? IMHO it brings FSX to a new level!

Oh, and testing will happen during the weekend. Just got home after a long day at work...

Better!

Ok, I couldn't resist trying again, so here's the deal (not wanting to sound like Ross Perot)

I took out the landclass that I had installed and installed the scenery again. Elevation problems are gone and frames are a little bit better. But I have a serious case of "the spikes" over the scenery. I'll take out the tall grass bgl and will report back.

So here's a new mystery.... I had it working fine, for a little, but now, specifically 3/1/2014, the fields are all blood-red.

What gives? If I change the season to other times of year it goes back to normal (though with red vector lines of some sort on the ground terrain).

I don't understand what's going on.

Looked nice, for a little while.

Addendum: only seems to happen in winter. Set season to Spring or Summer or Fall... looks fine. Very odd!

Not really odd. . .if the white is "pure" white (255,255,255) then the sim see's it as red. I did the winter textures for it and specifically toned the white down to be sure it didn't have that affect, so I don't know why you're seeing anything different.

Please post images as examples of what you're seeing.

Yea, it's the entire photoreal image. I'm doing some testing right now, as I hadn't used the scenery since it was released. When it first loaded, mine looked like that also (month was set to February). I went through the other seasons and then went back to February and the scenery was back as it should be. . .everything was fine, winter texture loaded as it should. I've just finished checking the other Months (January, December) they all look fine as well. Only suggestion I have is to do what I did. . .cycle your seasons and then back to winter and see if that helps. I have no idea why it initially showed as solid red.

I've tried:

- cycling seasons while in the FSX engine (in other words, alt-World-TimeandSeason, and change to other than Winter, then back to Winter) - doesn't fix. :banghead:
- cycling season to say, Summer at FSX startup, load NY94, enter FSX engine and world, looks fine; exit, exit FSX, start it up again, Reset time and season to current (I use REX Weather and like to use current weather and time in the areas I'm flying in), load.... REDCOLOR. :dizzy:

I find if I try to cycle too many seasons while in-game, I get a CTD (don't usually get those, probably memory going into overload :engel016:

I'm hoping it's some sort Gaussian De-Refractionization pseudo-texture blipmap optimization bit reduction thingie or something you just have to do on a .DDS file.... :)

In any event, in the interim, I'll just Stay Out of the Park in winter! Not a good time to fly a D25 up there, though it sure looks pretty in the winter, or did, at one point, I thought.

Getting same F12 Overhead view Roger above identifies, so whatever's going on, it's happening to both of us.
