    The Staff of SOH

  • Server side Maintenance is done. We still have an update to the forum software to run but that one will have to wait for a better time.

Attention all DC-3 fans !

I'll let the developers answer that question with certainty, but my expectation is that it will be one complete package that replaces everything you've cobbled together for V2.

I didn't want to spill any specifics, but I'll echo the sentiments already expressed: the folks that are working on this make one of the best teams in this sim I've seen, and this new version of this most iconic and loved aircraft are setting a standard not likely to be surpassed, certainly not for freeware.

I too missed the opportunity to Beta test this lovely machine. Unfortunately, I have reached that age where "Don't buy any green bananas" is more an order than suggestion.
I would be happy to fly it if it is only 95% perfect. Chuckle, chuckle, wheeze, wheeze,....Medic!

Difficult to see. Always in motion is the future.
Clear your mind must be.
Patience you must have my young padawan.

"Young" padawan is not a term used on me for many years now. I, too, buy bananas with care these days.

So, I was just curious, not impatient. I do not subscribe to the notion that no news is somehow good news.

And about the clarity of mind, well.....:dispirited:. It takes longer

While testing a shader program, so recorded this flight! The really cool stuff is top secret so not yet shown in the video.

I like that .. all that double naught spy kinda stuff .. almost like Air America starring Sean Connery as Mel Gibson :adoration:

Nice to see that chocks have been added. However, you should stow the steps before starting the engines. They could get blown away. Or do the chocks and steps get taken away together?

Just when you think it couldn't get any better, it does!

Den.

It will be ready when it is finished, and I am happy to wait until then. Please show some respect for the developers.

It does appear there are a few details to be finished out, but it's good to see "Rosie" and the crew hard at it!

Coming along quite nicely.

I didn't read anything he wrote as disrespectful.

Point to be noted, as you know some people trying to polish their tongue or language here lol I wish he would have been sensible too or more respectful oops!

TuFun, You're one lucky simmer :)

But TBH I'm waiting for this big old bird for to launch and rule the sim skies :adoration:

There's a lot of talented folks working on this bird. A lot of features has been added that you would expect from a payware model! Because of this a lot testing is required. For instance the flight model has been reworked and feels the way pilots remember flying the C-47. We are fortunate to have folks that have experience with this bird. :encouragement:

Me tinks teh A2A T6 and this bird are going to be fighting for top honors, and too which gets the most repaints. Really looking forward to this one.

The chocks and steps are separate functions. On the menu just select the ones you want visible.

As for the steps... no prop wash effects are simulated so no worries of it blowing away! :biggrin-new:

Always nice to stop by this thread every now and again to see how things are looking, not my most favourite plane but it has been rather cool to watch this thing come along

"As for the steps... no prop wash effects are simulated so no worries of it blowing away!" :biggrin-new:

That's very true of course, but if you are following real life procedures in other ways, why not stow them?

Just a thought on that, is it possible to replicate prop wash as it is with helicopters?

Den.
