Attention all DC-3 fans !

TEAM Manfred is busy adding new features and fixing things, but I tell it's exciting stuff! Well instead of telling yea, I'll show you.

You'll see that I ran the radial up before they were ready (warmed up) so just encase someone mentions that it's only a sound check. :adoration:

I hope that while this is still in development, you can include an option to turn off the Captain and Oliver voices. Other than that, very nice.

Jan is master at modeling, but without a programmer to continue the project, it was halted for quite awhile. Just recently all this has changed thus the recent updates that all are seeing in the videos. Without a good programmer this project would never got off the ground.

Ted, I know the disappearance of Hansi caused a huge delay in this project, but in this two and a half year the project has "grown" quite a bit as well and has become much more than "just" an amazingly detailed Vintage VC.

Cheers,
Huub

I dunno about the Captain and Oliver voices... might end up being too repetitive and annoying, like The Captain and Tennille.

Well I can do with current version and will fly the wings off this plane. Then they can take some time again for further developments and then a version 2 and 3 and 4 because I knew jan will always keep enhancing, but somewhere you have to draw the line and say, Ok let's release and then take it further from there. Also noticed the goalposts keep being moved. Nothing wrong with that and we appreciate the effort. This is going to be one of the most awesome planes ever released.

and yes I would also like to switch off voices if possible.

While waiting for a specific code to arrive, we wanted to test other possible stuff to add and refine others. I always wondered why it takes years to produce a AAA model like A2A, Milviz, PMDG, and some of the other projects that have been previewd on SOH. Although the modeling is complete and the textures are all there, the coding is what makes it fly and man that takes some time to get that right. So few around that do it for freeware models I might add.

I would also like to switch off voices if possible.

On the menu there is a little speaker that one clicks on to turn on or off the voices.

Will the first person that is *willing and able* to record all regular F/O communication with his own voice stand up please ?....

Guys, Daniel does all his cockpit sounds, audible checklist and F/O voice out of love for the DC-3 and our project in particular. He has to make use of a simple text2speech program and as such i think he's doing a most wonderful job. We are no A2A or PMDG you know... We have a saying here in Holland that goes " niet janken voordat je geslagen wordt " ( don't cry before you get hit ).

The idea of adding an F/O voice came from Daniel and Manfred, Ted and me embraced that wholeheartedly. It's not even like you have to shut him up when you step on board, you have to specifically call him to take the right seat only if you want to. Same goes for the audible checklist. Default you're all on your own.

Sorry about the promised Alpha version, too much problems in the coding department to take care of to risk a public release. Good thing is that we have reached Beta stage now. Still some testing to do but it does look like we're on short final now.

Thanks much again for your patience !

Cheers,
Jan

Hey guys your efforts really are appreciated...there are so few freeware developers as Ted said. Keep on cookin'
