Douglas C-47 v3 Livery Thread

That's about 2 of the 7 VH-ABRs ....both restorations of early Livery....so they're 1997 and 1988.

few more tweaks on the 88 one and I'll upload these before tackling number 3.

Now, ABR was actually a DC-3-232A and ended up converted to 8 windows [28 passengers] so maybe I should play with adding 3 dummies [windows, not passengers]...;)

OK...shall leave them with the 13 windows...
Looks like there's only 6 vers. 2 pics were different in that one didn't have its tail painted yet.

So it seems it's the original ANA - not quite the same as the resto, a 'Delta', a Skyliner....and a South Aussie one.

About halfway through the third version of VH-ABR.
This is the 1956 vintage ANA.

OK, that's the 3rd version worked out. 4th will likely be the 'ANSETT - A.N.A.'....next on the list.

So far I've only found one very grainy B/W photo of what would have been the very first changed ver to Ansett-ANA, so it's going to take a bit of searching.

Curiously, the original had the nose blackout...but the 'resto' didn't. Maybe they'd invented sunnies by then...;)

Joe-

Looking for WWII British paints... MANY MANY THANKS! Is it out yet?

Carl

This one was requested early on in this thread. Still working on the spec and alpha and I need to replace the
crest on the nose with the correct Kings crest. Just wanted to see how she looked in sim. I think it needs a
little more polish, what do you think?

Joe

There's more than a little uncertainty about the detail on this paint so Joe isn't opening it up for public release. However.. he'll be more than happy to send you a copy if you drop him a line:encouragement:

ATB
DaveB:)

As Dave pointed out, there is not a lot of info or pictures of this a/c. So I guessed on what it may have looked like.
I also decided not to release it to the public because of this, "BUT" if anyone would like a copy all you need to do is
PM with your email addy and I will send it to you.

What's this logo?

Can someone point me at this logo? I don't know what it is or where to get it. It seems to be popular on the repaints here.
I apologize for my ignorance. :dejection:

That is 24 Sqn RAF and that would be the Queens crest. That pic was taken before I had the proper Kings crest for this paint.
If you google 24 Sqd the crest should pop up.
