Douglas C-47 v3 Livery Thread

Ok, my mistake, the one I'm seeing a lot of looks similar but has an eagle in the middle. Like the one at the top of the page, Ansett Airways, on the engine cowl.

That's the Pratt & Whitney Engine logo...;)

As Dave pointed out, there is not a lot of info or pictures of this a/c. So I guessed on what it may have looked like.
I also decided not to release it to the public because of this, "BUT" if anyone would like a copy all you need to do is
PM with your email addy and I will send it to you.

Joe

The King may have used several different DC3's as did Montgomery, five to be exact.

The skins are very clean due to the Royals transport. In these pics you can see no black walk ways on the wings. The glare shield stops at the nose cone. The Royal flag is shown above the cockpit. The roundel has the yellow ring. Tail # looks to be KN386.

Joe-

I have installed her and she is LOVELY. Here she is awaiting her next Kestrel flight...

I am constantly amazed by the talent and generousity of members here at SOH.

I remain obliged- C

Your Welcome,

From the looks of the screenshot you may want to add BannaBob's globalEnvTest.
She will look more polished with this installed.

Den..

Best info we have on these is that they wore the Transport Command crest (quoted from 2 different sources). I sent you a PM here a fortnight or so ago. Did you ever get it?

This one is going to pretend to be and EC-47 once she is fully dressed.

That's nice looking, Duckie.

Would be cool if there was a long nose option for the model.

Of course.....another cool mod would be to toss the door and mount a few GAU-2/M134's in it.

Someone suggested a 'Feathers' livery of North Central's DC-3. This is as good as I can get as there is a dearth of decent pictures. Those that do exist are grainy old things or a schematic drawing.

Anyhow:

Is anyone of the talented SOH painters interested in doing the last flying C-47D of the Hellenic Air Force (ΠΑ 49622) please ? I'm not skilled myself but all gentlemen here are doing extraordinary repaints, so I just hope !!!
