Euro Truck Simulator 2.

Water themed DAF XF:

Magma MAN TGX:

Wolf Renault Magnum (Love the low front of this truck!):

Scania R Topline Fire:

For my own truck I found a great mod that works with v1.11 (Some older mods give nasty conflicts with newer versions of the game) and adds the Scania Torpedo model together with a whole bunch of mods.
So I added a 730 hp engine, an 8x4 chassis (Four driven, four steering wheels) a 'longliner' cabin and a whole bunch of pipes, bars and lights. Mixed up a custom metallic paint with a 'frost' effect that turns from grey to blue depending on the angle of the sunlight.

I don't think it would be very practical in the real world (Truck length is limited to the combined length of truck and trailer here for normal transport like ETS2 uses) but it's a game so who cares, right?

Here's how it looks so far, but I might make a few small changes in the future:

Seems I missed a few clickspots to add parts on the back, so now I've added fenders and other parts to make the back look a lot cleaner. Also added a plate with some extra lights behind the rear spoiler now.

Anyone still playing this..?

Update 1.17 is now here, as is the new Scandinavia DLC pack. 1.17 brings a new engine, with 64-bit optional; the game now runs more smooth with very little stutters, looks sharper and weather effects have improved.
Dowside is that most old mods no longer work, as the tire model now has seperate rims and tires selectable. Updated mods have already appeared though! Mercedes has finally replaced 'majestic' in the game, so all manufacturers now carry an official license.

Some screenshots of how the game now looks:

My wife and I both play it but we are still on v1.16, I didn't know v1.17 was out. Will have to get the latest version at some point.

Edit: I just grabbed it (several hours later) and gave it a run and all I can say is ......WOW! :icon_eek:

The lighting effects now are stunning especially at dawn/dusk. The lighting in the tunnels is also greatly improved. Game-play seems smoother too with less stutters.

I like (and so does my wife)!

:applause:

One thing my wife commented on is that she is still seeing 'Majestic' instead of Mercedes in her sim, I don't drive that make (nor do any of my multiple drivers) so I haven't noticed.

Larry, the mercedes upgrade is part of the 1.18 beta, which I didn't notice. My ETS2 in Steam is set to accept new beta versions, I assume the 1.18 update release will be a matter of days.

Have you tried the electric trucks?

I don't like the size of the gps ui in version 1.60 but the ability to select your rest time is a welcome addition to ATS/Ets2.

Can't wait for them to finish the UK update as it was badly needed.

I haven't played ETS2 since Dec 2023 and according to my Steam library panel I have 363.8 hours logged. I tend to drive more in ATS anymore (last played Mar 6, 992.7 hours logged). I agree with you on the UK update (that was poor from the start) but I am waiting for the release of the first Canadian map, BC, which looks stunning (as it should)!

I did not realize the new trucks are electric...I may have to park my regular truck and give that a try.

I too am really eager to see the UK scenery upgrade! I never could understand why the British isles were only partially covered.

I go back and forth between ETS2 and ATS...they both have their appeal. I really wish ATS went all the way to the east coast though...some of the middle states really don't have a lot to see.

ATS is the same in version 1.60, altered some of the cabin materials and you can choose how long you stop at the truck stop.

Used to hate having 6 hours left on the delivery time and not being able to stop, now you can take three hours and continue & not be late.

Had a few quick jobs that didn't allow for the time needed for the ferry crossings.

Adding cars to ATS and coaches to ETS2 eventually as DLC.

They added an electric Volvo VNL to ATS.

I like Iberia.

You will find them in the quick job menu, change the route length to shortest first, three options in ETS2 and one in ATS.

The UK map is from an earlier sim which got added to ETS2 & not updated, hopefully it won't be to long to wait for them to finish the upgrade.
