FSX Screenshots Here!!

Well, I know what I will be flying tonight! Just wish I could land this sucker on a carrier. We need a REAL FURY.

You could - just add [tailhook] and [launch_assistance] sections. That would get you "virtual" carrier performance, if you chose. I chose not to - a land-based FJ-2 quasi-lookalike is as far as I can suspend disbelief as far as the F-86 goes. I enjoy it as a an advanced trainer/reserve fighter role, which is in fact how the were mostly used. The FJ-2 wasn't aboard carriers very extensively or for very long.

Of course, the canopy, the cannon, the nose gear stance, in addition to the wings/hook/launch lugs are what really sets the Fury FJ-2 apart, and with a deeper fuselage on the FJ-3 - and of course, by the time the FJ-4 came around, the Sabre roots were barely recognizable (reversed main gear retraction, massively redesigned fuselage, etc.).

Still, like yourself, I would love either a -2, 3, or -4. it's one of my top 5 "hope to have in FSX" aircraft, and as such, enjoy the combination noted in the screenshot as a decent stand-in. Grady's paint is just sublime.

Henry, thanks for posting these images! I went to the Library immediately to get the Canadian camo paint and then found more brilliant paints you did for the T-Bird, some I knew of, others I did not see before, great stuff:applause::applause::applause:

Of course, the canopy, the cannon, the nose gear stance, in addition to the wings/hook/launch lugs are what really sets the Fury FJ-2 apart,...

And then there's the cockpit..... Completely redesigned compared to that of the F-86E/F... Photo's ??... Forget it. Not even in the book i have about the FJ-2 (AFAIK there even isn't a book specifically about the FJ-2. The book i have is about the FJ-2 and FJ-3. Re the latter some good photo's of the cockpit are available. Also very different to that of the F-86 of course) The only means of having a look at an FJ-2 cockpit is from a DVD i have about the FJ-2. Here's a clip of it :

I also found that, as far as the FJ-3 is concerned, it seems a much better idea to start from scratch to model an FJ-3 rather then adapt a model of the F-86E/F. It's really only the wings that are usuable without severe surgery. Believe me, i've tried... :)

cheers,
jan

Those are some great looking T-birds!! What version is that? Tim Conrads T-33?
Thanks, yes its Tim Conrads

Very nice screenie! Is it the standard FSX Beaver?
Did you paint it yourself ? :)
Which scenery's that?

Thanks, the scenery is Fsx default from British Columbia,

Brilliant paints as usual Henry!! Thanks for reminding us of this little gem. BTW where can we get hold of Bill Stevens' FSX upgrade??

DaveQ

Thanks!
