The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Thanks Uli. Funnily enough, I didn't think either the plane or the gentlemen looked German at all, and spent too much time in Aerofiles !

Here's another racer.....

Macchi M.52R ..... or is it the M.67 (says he, having failed to distinguish the finer detail of the three Italian 1929 Schneider Trophy entrants)?

Robert has nailed this one, Mike - the not-quite-right failed US entry. In fact, it only just qualified for this forum, having heaved itself off the water for only a short distance !

Over to Germany - :very_drunk: - remembering happy evenings in the Schottenhamel pavilion - nearly 50 years ago now......

I had to google that, I must admit that I never visited the Oktoberfest, mostly because of the horrible price for the beer. Things are getting worse from year to year. :very_drunk:
Must be a real gap in ecucation.

Here is something more in size but less in speed.

A question concerning the rules: Is it enough to qualifiy for the mystery when the craft was ready to fly but was only tested on the ground?
I have a nice one which I would love to show you.

I say go for it. I'm curious!

Also, like Lefty thought the Rumpler was a racer buried in Aerofiles somewhere. Good one Uli.

Hello boys and girls!
What about the LeO 208?
Cheers
Carlo (BG)

Near miss, Kevin, but Carlo has it. :)

It is the LeO 208 :icon29:

And thanks for your answer concerning the non-flyer, it will be one of my next mysteries then. Won't tell you in advance which one :)

Hi Robert!
What about a nice old fashioned floater?
Cheers
Carlo (BG)
PS Actually I had within easy reach a nice pic of a craft all lined up to fly which however refused to do so and never took off however by editing I would have deprived you of your original idea which wouldn't have been fair......maybe later on!

Grazie Carlo!

My next offer is an unusual craft that truly flew and isn’t a glider. Have fun.
