The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Why yes, yes it is. :icon29: For the newcomer DHC2Pilot.

Your turn Sir. There are some general guidelines about what to post in the first post of this thread.

And for my first submission here....Sorry for the poor quality picture - I've been unable to locate a better reference copy. Now, before someone pummels me for posting a "light" aircraft photo, it does have historical significance which will be revealed as hints (if necessary).

I can tell you that the design is the first effort from two of three talented designers who would later join forces .......

Hmmm, if our resident East European expert hasn't got it, not much hope for the rest of us.

The Poles were very fond of parasol designs, and I have found half-a-dozen very similar to this, but not quite... Ditto the Lithuanian Anbos.

Think you might have to notch up a first victory here, young man. (there's two assumptions for you !)

Lefty, you were in the right country :applause:
Our mystery bird is none other than the Wigura-Rogalski WR-1, built in 1927. Wigura and Rogalski would team up with Jerzy Drzewiecki to form the Polish RWD team later that same year.

But that's OK, I'll have a brewsky on all of your behalfs. A nice frosty mug of St.Pauli girl should do the trick. :icon29:
Now, to hit the archives for the next mind bender........

Now we're talking ! Would have been drummed out of the forum with ignominy if I missed two floaters in a row.

(You certainly slipped under the radar with that Polish special - very obscure indeed.)

This one is an Italian lady - a C.M.A.S.A. (Fiat) MF 4.

Thank you. Something with wheels for a change.

Gwinn Aircar. I knew it was flying car, but here at work, I don't have access to my books. Looking for it on the web, I found the following neat website:

http://www.roadabletimes.com/

I am going on vacation today, so I don't have time to look for one. So, the floor is open.

I am currently about 60% into making a model of the following; but it doesn't count because it was never built.

:icon29: to James on the Aircar. Lefty was biting his lip on this one no doubt!

There is a website for everything these days huh? Have a nice vacation James-

Open Floor

Asking for a little lattitude here on this next one (mostly because I finally tracked down a picture of it!). Non-flying types are normally strictly verboten!

Hours away from the first test flight the whole project was cancelled and sadly, it never got to fly.

Any takers?
